So SveinR said that on the 3rd of February 2010 Elasto Mania has been alive for ten years! Immediately I thought that we had to do something special. I was thinking something like everybody meet up in IRC and some famous people talk and maybe we have one battle where everyone play or something, I dunno. Maybe I'm too ambitious here but I felt that I should take the first step towards this celebration thing. Please tell me what you think!

Make the largest chainlevel ever and release it on that day, with some fancy 10 year anniversary sign right at start.
Everyone makes tiny part of a level randomly and send lev to some levelmaker who puts it together in ALE (ez to copypaste levs).

Good idea. Maybe all kuskis who can meet somewhere and have elma meetings, in which we could all play EOL and talk to each other between meetings by webcam or such. A bit painful to arrange though

I dont know if I like the idea of a show, I mean what exactly is that show all about? What will it offer those who are there? Gonna ask FM to hold a speech about scene in 2001? Can imagine it will be like "So now we're 124 ppl in #across, now what?"

Modify the Moposite-logo into some partyish, balloonish, anniversaryish logo and keep it at Moposite main for a week.

I think it is a good idea to celebrate 10th anniversary, in a way or another. I would also be willing to put own effort into it, depending on of course what the thing is. Maybe I could make some levels to anniversary-battle or something. Must think about this a bit more!

I like your idea Zweq! Maybe some milestones with wrs, cups, achievements etc! It would be a very long and interesting Elma movie. I think the people making this should be:
* Some pro video editor
* A guy who has been here since the start
* Someone with a lot of influence

It would be cool if someone with a nice voice commented in the vid about the performances etc. I have so many ideas!

Seriously, I'd like much if anything was done, but I fear I couldn't be of much help, since I only joined in 2008 and was a very distant spectator of the scene from 2005 to 2008. I'd love to help though!

It would be so cool if there really was a truly well made video not only about "my maxest rides in internal 29 and 33 plus selected externals"....But a video devoted to elastomania, people involved and progress of elma gameplay from early days to now.

It would be nice to us noobs in particular who don't know anything about old stars and milestones, who invented certain tricks or influenced in enhancing the gameplay into what it is to today.... so it would be like a documentary of elma

If psy, video should feature some pro players thought's about what's happening to elma in future, is there a future etc. or commenting some styles and tricks "behind the scenes, kinda thing" in the movie....Well, the possibilities are plentyful and i think they should be used.

Also could it be cool if ppl did many individual videos (every video would of different subject or so) , and then the whole thing could be released in 3.rd of feb as a elastomania 10 years - video pack.

A well edited video is a nice thing to do. Audio comments/voiceovers along scenery of moposite, a play on talking heads in normal documentaries, and in the barest case a mere line of someone saying something.

People who should be featured are:

Abula, px, skint0r, mp, Karlis, milagros, SveinR, john, zweq, WR-owners, famous battlers of the old days, webmasters of sites like elmasite.com, big contests (dz's, Xhomas'), levelmakers like BarTek, Zebra, ville_j, Olliz, antz, allrounders like orcc, idlers like ari_ahf in #across, people who met up in real life and shared their photos and movies on the moposite/mopolauta, like petsen, ramone, me, insane guy, luther, etc.

The social aspect of elma could be showcased in an allbinding factor. Show the evolution of moposite old forum to the new one, with the changing interests, the logs of #across, the GAA moments, the #battle nostalgia, the brief stint with amle, the sidescene of russia, the cheating history within this game, how it got solved by heroes like milagros.

During all this people/moments action, show footage of elma tricks, and WR-tables. One hell of a job. You could organise a battle at the actual 3rd of february, and implement the whole event in the footage. You need to make it special, so that oldtimers could reunite with the scene for a brief moment.

Perhaps a good kickoff for the project would be asking a question about the scene; like "what has this scene brought up, besides killing time?". From there, you're obliged to review the chronology, the characteristics, the pro and cons of spending time with this game, but more importantly the scene, and several opinions within the scene. You then have a reason to start interviewing people about their current habits, if they've quit the scene. The whole film would get a forward motion if you'd place it in a more "academic" approach, otherwise you would be just scratching the surface of this period of time.

Definetely we need a berh mention and AKB could make a very special Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP) just for the occasion.

Something that would be coal would also be to take a screenshot of every WR-table (tho this would be quite agonizing since logos arent fully showing at the same time) but then put them all together in a quick sequence of like 30 frames a second. The clip would become about 10 seconds long and could act as an intro to some internalpart of the movie. Maybe have table #001 show a little bit longer and print out the date it was updated, then *rrrrrrrrrrrr* (projector imitation) until the most recent table at the time of the movie comes up, and also here print the date. It would be kinda like a homage to px and also show how the table has evolved. Not a chance to study the development but you will be able to see those longlasting WRs as they will stay 2 secs or longer on screen ;o

I would do a commentary conjointly with Raven on the brutal steppes if want? And also the jabber of jaytea hating on my extra volt, which in-fact made me the first person to complete the steppes with the current world record style.

Also, I could throw in some story about aliens stealing my 9.3x miss rec and my excitement toward my Rookie Golden Apple award!

And to complete this I could say something about the importance of mongoness in the forum, which I share a great (infamous?) run with some other users.

Besides, I expect this to be a feature-length film for me to enjoy! 90minsplz

yes and i believe there should be some interviews with the people who are just kind of involved who you see post every now and then and dont add much to the scene at all except make some times here and there and post the occasional comment, you know some filler.

I think some collection of general nostalgia files would be the best. Like well-chosen parts from #across logs, old pictures and stories from all kind of meetings (and getting GAA05 pictures working again, they haven't worked for me at least for a long time), maybe translating to English the reports from the very oldest meetings (reports somewhere at moposite), gathering together all the old KOM interviews, getting more info about Russian and Hungarian meetings and scene and generally getting some old-school guys tell stories in text file, audio or video like it has been discussed here.

Some megacool edited video is unnecessary imo and you can't even fit as much different random stuff on it as you can to some collection (could be some important old recs and levs included too in the collection).

some nice suggestions here. interviews (among other things) from well known kuskis for the past 10 years would be very nice. but quite a big ask. would be great to hear from such people like abula, px, skint0r, jeppe, karlis, dz, markku, zweq, john, toringe. and even some from darm, nostrada etc about cheating.

personally i only think this can be done by some who has been around from the start, and there aren't that many that have stuck around for that long.

cant believe i've been playing elma for almost 10 years.

when i think back to what elma memories that have stuck the most, i would say dz's under 40 tt and darm as a cheater.
