Finnish Elma Meeting 2003

Maybe a bit early but anyway I create this topic for a place to store new ideas and stuff.

General
Finnish Elma Meeting (FEM) is a traditional yearly happening event where some (usually) finnish Elma players are gather to meet other players and have fun. So far there have been three of them.

History
June 2000, participators: bluu, Conny, Karlis, kuiva, PeXi and Tisk, place: Ulvila, Tisk's home
May 2001, participators: Abula, bluu, Karlis, kuiva, Mikko, Nikke, PeXi, Tisk, Toble, Tuska, place: Nokia, Toble's home
August 2002, participators: Abula, Tisk, dz, Karlis, kuiva, mrickx, mr, Orcc, Jokke, place: Lammi, rent summer cottage

2003
Place: Sotkuma, near to Joensuu, East Finland
Date: 6-9th June
Duration: 3 days, not decided yet (remember that you can be there only half of it if you think it's too long)
Participators: Abula, Karlis, mr, psy, Tisk, px, Orcc, kuiva, Jokke, Pallukka

Hopefully this time we get even more fellows to join.

Suggestions for program:
- IRL battles
- Multiplaying
- Beer battle (everybody drinks one beer/cider/some other drink with same amount of alcohol in it than one beer has -> 20 minutes battle -> results -> second beer -> 20 minutes battle -> results -> third beer ... -> tenth beer -> 20 mins battle -> final results)
- Compo where you have to drive with your feet
- Compo where your keys are changed (up is down, left is right etc.)
- Internal compos (best total time in one hour etc.)
- Sauna compo :-]

RoniMox refused to join the Israeli Elma Meeting (which hasn't occured anyway)... will she take a flight to Finland for this meeting? I don't think so...

We would like to read some stuff about DEN meetings too to get ideas to ours etc. You have had two meetings so far? Only one is on Moposite... can the another one be added there too?

well, like Abula said, we have had two elmameetings here in denmark ( + an unofficial, small one after a party many of the kuskit were invited to at petsen[rdk]s place ..

The second meeting was also in Fredereica. Here Deisel had arranged that we could borrow some rooms in a school. We had plenty of space and lots of participants
Among the cooler thing was our battle tournament. Here we battled quite a few battles, and after ecah battle the winning replay was shown on an projector on the wall.( results for the tournament are online

Also Rigger published his Apple harvest, wr style replay to the danish public, alo shown on the projector ..
We also saw elma-crime, since it was released same day as our meeting started
A full report is lying somewhere on my machine I think.. Ill mail it to you abula

I've been involved in the Quake speedrunning scene (www.planetquake.com/qdq) for quite som years, and we have had a few international meetings. People from all over EU was there, plus one guy from the US. I can really recommend not only meeting you fellow landsmen, but also other nationalities. It's really great fun

h0h0 i would r0xx0r in such a contest, but i suggest some changes:

instead of only drinking a beer, lets drink a beer and 0.5dl of vodka (or similar), so we end up really twisted

also 10 beers and 0.5l of vodka is not even close to enough for me, can i smoke some weed meanwhile?

If i'll have money then i'll come, i want a cool elma meeting, coz drinking alcohol is banned at Hungarian Elma Meeting (how stupid)

It's ok that alcohol is banned from there, it isn't a drinking party, and after it you can drink with your friends as much as you want

IF i dont have to start working, but if it's before June 2003, then i bet i have the time to come.
I wrote about dunk-battle, yes, but the idea of it was that we throw a helluva party, THEN drive like animals...And the beer-battle would take like 400 minutes to get me wasted

Do it like this : Drink 3 beers, play 20 min, drink 3, play 20min, etc...then i bet the 5th battle will be coal

I hope I can come, and i'll find out in time before the meeting...I'll save some money too
