And what for must they visit lauta/mirc for a long time?
If there'll be 5-10 nominates, and there'll be wrote all about them, and you'll be able to see that lev/contest/rec and talk to someone about it, what for do you need some exp in the scene?
I can't understande.

You'll need an objective view on the matter. If all you know is what others have told you, then your view might be a bit biased, don't you think?

The point is, they should not just have been reading the WR tables and Moposite/Hungarian elma site/whatever news. They should really know different people in the scene.

ok ive had enough of this. all you russian who are there saying "we want jury member!!!111". who do u suggest? darm? he said he doesn't want to be in there. and anyone else you say just isn't active enough in the scene.
Yeah, and they must have many friends, to vote for them.
Now I got it
if thats what u think, then dont even bother caring about these awards ok? the jury was picked especially not for this to happen. plus, by what i have read, it seems that u(if you were chosen in the jury) would do just that anyway. of course we aren't gonna choose someone who says "pick us! we are from russia the best country at elma in world!! we deseve awards".

just accept that russia has not been a dominent country in elma for long enough ok?
team EM - why not ok?

The point is, that you've started saying, that WE DON'T deserve it! For us it's not important wiil be some one in jury or not!For us important that your attitude towards our country is like: RF suxx.
And, when we strated our talks about ajury from russia? answer was NO! This is important!
The point is, that YOU, with ALL scene thinks, that Russia DON't DESERVE IT!
THIS IS THE POINT!

that's all

When did ANYONE ever say that you didn't deserve it?! :!: All we said was that "There are no Russians who have been very active in the community throughout this year, therefore you don't have enough general knowledge about the scene, and thus you are not qualified for being jury-members". How hard is that to understand?
I don't understand why this is so important to you anyway. It's not like having a jury-member from a country will lead to other people from that country having better chances of winning. It seems to me that that's what you think.

Back to the topic. Will there be a ceremonial awards thing, or just simply post some rewards?

Believe or not but we have finally made the thinking work which wasn't that simple. I hope this will be good enough for majority.

Date of final show: 1. March 2003, clock: 20:00 EET.

Progress:

1. I decide the categories (according to suggestions of scene and jury)
2. The jury (me, ciph, GuyB, Mick, SveinR) seek 10 candidates to each category
3. Scene has 7-10 days to vote candidates in categories
4. Top5 of each poll gets to final show
5. In the final show jury votes (jury members can vote themselves if they are nominated, in draw [every candidate out of five gets only one vote, very unlike] I will decide)

I go to make those categories now (to private topic). The polls will be up .. hm, on Sunday I hope (I won't be at home in next weekend).

Hey, it's not good for the golden apple awards to be on the IRC channel because when many people get into it at the same time, it sometimes turns to be full and no-one can join. so then, the show will go on but some fellas from the outside wont be able to join and no one from the inside will pay attention cause no one will know... thought about that?

IRC is the best option

Post by Viper_KillerGuy »

IRC is almost made for this

If we mode-rate the channel so the jury have op, and voice the winner of each catagory to do a small interview/thank-you-speach, ban a few spammers it'll be almost as good as a tv-transmission

This is cool.
Some categories:
-best externalist
-biggest skirt-catcher (so that kuski has the most girlfriends)
-biggest lame/n00b/looser (both in life and in elma)
-oldest kuski (you don't have to vote, just search for the oldest kuski. I don't know who's the oldest active player in the world, but in hungary, there's a 40 years old player, called api)
-youngest player (same)
-best woman player (Ronimox, Katta and Zsófi are girls, who i know)
-biggest flooder on irc
