worldcup 7 cheering topic

Post by ribot »

Hi!

This post is for all us nabs who don't even can play elma, but who would like to see our hero kuskit compete in the top.

Personally it's sad for me that zweq is butthurt and said he will not play. I apologize if I'm so rude to mention his name, but it would really make the cup all the more better if he were playing.

So who would you like to see play, and what can you tell them to motivate them go participate seriously?

I want all oldschool designers to wake up and submit a level or two. MP, Abula, sleap, Lozkin, Olliz, Karlis, Markku, all these guys. I think it would be fun for them to experience the joy of levelmaking again, and awesome for the players to see new levs from their favorite authors.

Don't underestimate everyone else, zweq haven't played any world cup seriously and they have still been filled with plenty of good recs and excitement.

Yes, I myself find it a bit annoying when people make statements like that. There are plenty of good players and everyone who participates will contribute to the success of the cup. Of course would be nice to see many oldskool and recognized kuskis playing too.

I agree that there are plenty of great players out there and it'll be a great cup regardless of whether zweq participates or not, but I have to defend ribot and Hosp a bit too. We all know zweq is famous for his stupidly insanely mindfuckingly sick moves and styles, so every cup loses a little if he doesn't participate ;)

These at least recently active mans should play for max stoke and competition:

adi
Bjenn
finman
Kazan
Madness
Spef
Zero
Zweq

So play or ban from scene!

I'm quite pessimistic. Only finman (among pros) might play much but I really hope there will be more. Actually I wouldn't be very surprised if Spef decides to play. Dunno about myself, either play 100% or skip.

But actually this is cheering topic, so I hope there will be many dedicated players regardless of their skill level.

Dark horses?
jblaze - very talented player but doesn't have much experience of serious hoyling
ville_j - niilo expert
anpdad
Hosp - Still quite mystery. Is he pro or not? Plz take seriously this cup.

Are there going to be prizes and stuff this year? I don't know how seriously people take things like this but perhaps they would motivate some players.
For example, the winner gets 10 unshared WR recs. :D Or something creative made with love, like that wooden bike by Mawane in the neighbouring thread.

I would play more serious if money were involved, but we already know that is not going to happen, too small scene.

Nobody even cares to make a video nowadays. World Cup 6 for example is already forgotten. None of the sick replays with hundreds of hoyl hours are featured in any video.

There was a trailer for World Cup 6 but nothing that follows.
World Cup 5 video by Kopaka is a masterpiece, it's so enjoyable to watch now and then, it gives nostalgic feelings!
Cheers.

In case people don't remember, these http://kopasite.net/up/0/IMG_1898.JPG were given out in world cup 6, and yes there will be equal or more awesome ones in World cup 7. There were diplomas for top 10 promised as well, but that kind of fell on the floor due to various reasons, but it is still the plan to get those out.

Incredible video indeed, WC5 had some really good levels. And Luth's replays of the first few levs where he hoyled like a maniac, sick!
Can't believe this was over 10 years ago. o,o

And noone wants to make wcup6 video? Or are there people that want to but feel like they are not worthy because it's supposed to be such a significant vid?

Probably partly this, partly the bystander effect: everyone is waiting for someone else to do it. Bjenn is a pro video maker, why not make it himself instead of wondering why no one makes?)

Now would be an awesome time to get it done for real though, to get it out of the way and increase stokedness for WC7 :>

Thank you roope :) But I duno how to make as good as Kopaka :*
Else I could do it I guess. It's not fun to watch the winner replays only, it has to be like a story somehow and including other replays with other styles/routes. And more names mentioned!

When some fall away others will shine. Wtf, so much potential in the scene. many has what it takes, theoretically, but to have that dedication and hoyl all that. its not easy for so many weeks!

zweq might play an event or two if there is some good level (but since I have no level to submit for wc that is unlikely. sidenote, if there is something arrangers need, ask me, I might do something, Im all blanc, need very good idea to be able to do something for wc)

kazan still in mie? ;)
