All right... =) Thank you very much for everything everyone! This was my first FEM as a real actual arranger and organizator (previously I just rented the place and collected money osv, not that big of a deal). I put my heart and soul at making it succesful at my home ground, and I am fairly confident to say it turned out like that! Pretty happy about that. :) I would even say that this FEM was one of the main achievements of my life, and in two different ways. The first one is that this meeting has became interesting enough for this many people to come here even from other countries. The second one is really making this meeting possible by cleaning this place and doing other organizative tasks. It was certainly one of my biggest projects ever and with a tight timetable because i was not able to start it early enough (like already last year). Without my helpers it would have been total horror, so thank you very much for each and every helper. Also there was some good luck in none of my fears (place being too dusty / running totally out of time / running out of sleeping spots or mattressess or blankets / mosquitos taking over / parents getting angry about something / electricity problems / etc) materializing.

Sickest FFCup ever with top 3 within one point and winner situation constantly changing at the last level
People liked hats
Smoke sauna was a success
Danielj got to pet Kurmu (but bene didn't even try to find the bears from forests, major disappointment)
Sparrows at the hayloft
Small hours riding and exploring with Ramone
Femrun and Holin Masa
Hanging competitions
Ramone's total time cup levels
Bullet cup
Building stuff with jonsykkel
People actually liked the guestbook pole idea (too bad weekend ppl already left)
Family got well along with many people
Jonsykkel sleeping in grain silo
I think after some practice bene finally learnt to say "aitta"
People actually listening to and being interested in my stories about history of the farm / village / the general area
Temporarily leading Zweq at chess
Seeing all of this happening at my home. For example it was surreal going behind the cowhouse to pee at night and seeing everything is as always for my whole life (dark forest and fields and the cowhouse), but at the same time hearing the music and conversations from above.

Finally, I forgot to tell people that you are all welcome there or to my Lappeenranta apartment any other time. :) It would be really cool to have weekend guests osv, it would be poss to do a lot more stuff and visit a lot more places than what was poss at FEM.

More tomorrow about arrangements, practical things and finally about the payments.

There was a google docs schedule that we mostly followed, i guess there will always be unexpected stuff that makes events delayed or changed days. it was maybe unfortunate that we had two quizzes on the same day, but fem quiz was originally not planned and Roope stayed an extra day to participate in music quiz, so it would suck if he still missed it.

I offered adi to sit at my table since we spent some time together at night and there was free space next to me, it's not something personal against you. I would personally love to sit next to you as you always make things entertaining.

Been working on my FEM report since leaving FEM (started when I was waiting at the airport) and here it is!

It's been quite emotional week for me, I'm not sure if anyone noticed but many random times I was close to getting emotional just because I was so happy to finally realize my dream of going to fem. When saying goodbye to Luther and nom I was getting emotional and could hardly hold it in lol. It's been quite overwhelming and I had a positive experience with each and every person I met! Thanks everyone for making it such a great meeting.

I'm not going to go into too personal stuff but I've had to do a lot of work and self-improvement to be able to go to FEM and function as a fairly normal human being. It hasn't only been about money and opportunity but also quite complicated personal stuff that I won't be getting into now. So going to FEM felt like a quite big achievement to me. Next time I think I can be more comfortable and be able to enjoy it more naturally. It already felt quite natural because all of the people are so easy to be around, but still it will be easier to just be myself I think. Anyway I want to tell anyone that might have been afraid of going because of shyness or whatever it might be that you don't have a reason to be afraid! Once you meet people it's all easy-going.

Hosting elma events at fem was amazing experience! I'm already planning which kind of events I'd like to host next time.

I want to share some words to/about each person I met. Unfortunately there were a couple of people I didn't interact with at all, which I feel a bit bad about. Hope that they come next year so I can greet them properly!

adi
I'd say he's my favorite player to spy so it was great to sit next to him and be able to spy a lot. He was going for finish in limpsy04 and it was cool to spy many attempts where he got far, and ofc sik spy when he actually got it. Someone told him about the lev and after a few test runs at hard spots he told me "I think I can finish this within FEM" and he played it a few days and got it. We also have a lot of music in common so it was great to be able to listen to music together since we have quite much history of sharing music with each other in discord etc also. Also nice sense of humor and many good one-liners.

Antti
Great conversation partner, someone you can always have a chat with and nice to have some non-elma people around. Nice to meet the man behind the nick of some nice IRC and discord conversations.

A.K.B.
Amazing to come all the way from Australia to Finland for a meeting like this. I sat next to him for the whole meeting and it was always entertaining to hear his commentary and hes a great player to spy also. We had some nice conversations but i sometimes felt sorry that i was not more talkative. Luckily he had Luther next to him also which can provide more conversations than me.

bene
It was great to finally meet bear. Always felt like great mood when he was around. I said it was scary to sleep next to bear but actually it was lie and i felt very safe sleeping next to him.

Dad-o-matic
Seemed to always be in a good mood and nice to see that he seemed to enjoy having so many strangers at his farm. One nice memory i have is from one of the first mornings when i was the first and only person in hoyloft, he walked in and said something like "very early", since i was the first one up. He also liked the music i was playing (some classical guitar) and said "very nice music" and "not rock and roll".

FinMan
I had fun at disc golf despite the mosquitoes and my shoulders not being in great shape. Great to spy in both elma and disc golf and nice man to talk to. :D

Haamu
Nice man to sit next to. Great that some relatively new kuskis are coming to fem also. He seemed to enjoy it a lot and hope to get to know him better in the future.

igge
Fun man, was always entertaining to spy him in my battles or play his. Also nice to be able to remind him irl about iggepipe.

insane guy
Cool guy, sad he could only be there a short while so I didn't have the chance to talk to him more.

jblaze
Incredibly positive guy in real life as in eol! You can tell he cares a lot about the community and he always makes things interesting. Suomi hat is a classic and i admire the dedication to keep it on so much. There would definitely be something missing if jblaze had not been there! Hope to see you next FEM.

jonsykkel
He was the first person I greeted when I met mans at airport I think, really nice dude and thanks for being helpful with driving to shop a few times etc. Also very nice to offer taxi from Helsinki to onion farm! Was fun to watch jon getting coached by veezay to play tutor14 at night.

Kortsu
I'm glad I had him as my couples partner since he was one of the guys I knew least from before. I had a lot of fun and it doesn't matter that we didn't do very well. Also most other people had played it before and we hadn't so we can blame that.

Kopaka
Always got a positive vibe around him. Nice to meet the guy who essentially keeps elma alive with his continuous work of keeping EOL server running. :D

Kurmu
The cutest attendant of FEM for sure! Thanks for letting me pet you and for the selfie together (only took like 10 tries).

Lousku
Super nice dude. I think one of my highlights of FEM was listening to Igorrr while playing Apple cup. I actually avoided Igorrr when transferring music to Veezay's computer because I thought very few people would like it, but it seemed like more people than I expected likes it. If it's tradition to listen one Igorrr album at FEM I approve.

Luther
Really nice guy and I have very fond memories of hearing/watching AKB and Luther play my battles in the early stages of fem when there were just a few of us. He has put amazing effort into making fem happen, staying approx a month in Finland and putting many hours of work into making everything ready.

nick-o-matic
Of course it cannot be stated enough how thankful I am to nick-o-matic for making FEM happen at onion farm! Even when we arrived at 3am and they didn't know we were coming because of communication issues he was very patient. It was amazing to see him come up with custom solutions for stuff like projector canvas, and self-made blinders for it. He always got great ideas and he always gets it done. I was quite surprised that he wanted to go through the trouble of setting up for movie night with me and Luther after a whole week of FEM and all the hard work before FEM, but it turned out to be a great way of relaxing and closing FEM once we got it done. He also went through quite big effort to let me do some sightseeing the next day before my train towards Helsinki. Overall I'm super touched by nom's hospitality and super nice to meet you!

Pawq
One of the guys i felt i spent too little time with. I wish i had moved temporarily for some contests such as TT battles so the three of us TR members could have played together as a team. Still we had some nice moments and it was nice going to sculpture park with him, Ruben and Mielz.

Ramone
I've heard people say that fem wouldn't be the same without Ramone and now I know what they mean. He really feels like an essential part of fem and I hope to see him again in future FEMs. Spying Ramone editing levs was quite amazing. How he spent a lot of time on really small details that I would rarely do (only for some cup or high quality pack or such).

Markku
Really cool guy all the time! Always helpful when you need something. I regret not making more apple battles so I could spy more.

Mielz
Nice to meet, and sik to get enigma WR during FEM! grats! We also had nice adventure going to sculpture park. :)

Orcc
Cool dude for sure! Didn't get the chance to talk to him very much so hope to see him in next FEM.

roope
Awesome guy to meet! Thanks for motivating me to put on music with the comment "Put on something you and me and adi likes" :D Hope we can spend more time together next time, and it was great to see that you wanted to stay longer just to not miss music quiz!

Ruben
Met him with jon and zero on airport and had some nice conversations on the way to onion farm, though we were all very tired. Really nice to meet him and he was always in a good mood. He showed me new levelmaking technique which has given me some new inspiration. Hope to spend more 'team TR'-time together next FEM.

Stini
Really cool guy and it was nice to talk some about music. Was funny when he complimented the onion cup playlist after two songs and i knew the rest of the playlist was probably not exactly his style.

Spef
Was nice to meet my warm-up nemesis! Really chill dude all the time and max to spy ofc.

terb0
Was nice to meet you, you did a great job with hosting beer battle which must have been my favorite FEM event! Great job selecting levs.

veezay
Another character that feels like essential for FEM. Thanks for coaching me in tutor14. Late nights would be much more boring without him!

vender
Just got to say hello, which was still nice!

zebra
Nice to meet this legendary levelmaker, even if we didn't talk much. Next time I hope we can do some collaboration lev!

Zero
He was among the three first people i met and we had some nice conversations on the way from airport to onion farm. Thanks for a warm welcome and helping to make me feel less nervous. In fem it was ofc amazing to spy him in all contests and battles he participated in. Also very nice to hear him rofl when watching ai and sl recs in bear secret.

Zweq
My first meeting with zweq was probably the most awkward of all. Totally because of me though. It was at the peak of my sleep deprivation so i guess i bla blaed something about not being able to think because i had hardly slept in many days. Anyway he is really chill dude and amazing to spy him.

My goals for next FEM:
- Make more collab levels! I only made a quite rushed lev with nom for FFcup, and it feels like a quite wasted opportunity to not make collab levs with more mans.

- Would be nice to visit some kuski(s) in a new place before going to FEM next time.

- Play at least some events with my team! We even forgot to take a picture together.

- Be more social. While I felt that I was at the limit of how social I can be for a whole week, sometimes I felt like I wasted too much time at the computer when I could spend more time with people instead. Next time I can for sure be more comfortable from the get-go.

- Take more pictures. My photo collection after FEM is embarrasingly small.

- Learn some Finnish so I can talk a bit more with dad-o-matic and strangers etc. :D

Thanks all again, I really think this was my best vacation ever. :P

I've had a pretty rought summer with socializing, so much stuff with very few days in-between, and it all was topped off with FEM (and a bachelor party for my friend which sadly made me leave FEM a few days early). It was still nice how effortless it was to interact with all the mans at FEM. There's always at least a warm smile or a good joke whenever you go in the presence of someone, if not a long and nice conversation.

Here's some of my top people and moments (not ranked):

Dani coming. IIRC I knew that it'd be hard for him to come (for reasons he stated above), and it's such a nice feeling to read that he enjoyed his time. Was always nice when you seeked out to chat with me and spy me on the couch :*

Haamu coming. I know that he's not that well-known figure in the scene, and he probably didn't chat that much with people, but he's a dear friend of mine and it was nice to hear that he enjoyed himself and will come to future FEMs. He's a researcher of online nicknames, and it was really fun to make rounds asking where people's nicks come from (even got AKB to reveal it!!).

AKB coming. It's such an insane thought that someone would come to an Elma meeting from the other side of the world. Was probably the first time I've heard a native English speaker IRL too, was pretty noice!

Interhybridizer (aka Ruben), it's so nice how you can always go to him and you can instantly hit off and chat about anything. Also, fonts are nice.

Music quiz. Fuck Ramone (with love :*), I was hyped as shit for this. I guess all the confusion came from the switching of the schedule, I think originally it was gonna be on the Sunday evening. I was annoyed that there were so many songs that I should have known, but I'm also happy I got some points for my team on my own :>

Random non-Elma people visiting. I already knew Dad-o-matic and Mom-o-matic (who I think only visited once), and I love them - I was actually a bit surprised how relaxed Dad-o-matic was about the whole ordeal. Then there was Sister-o-matic and Sister's-boyfriend-o-matic, who both were sik nice and talkative - they stayed for quite a while. And then there was Masa (79yo guy who participated in the running race), and the savusauna-heater-guy, and the other sauna friends of nick-o-matic who brewed us some special bears and made us salmon and other great food. Sick communality!

Seeing specialist engineering mans rig shit up.

veezay

Then the minuses: birds pooping on me in my sleeping place (the other end of the hayloft). Otherwise a nice place but could make some defence rig for the next time.

All right, about arrangements. =)
bene wrote: 17 Jul 2019, 18:41I also missed the outdoors part of FEM. Like the big table where someone always sitting and doing stuff. It's nice for me who doesn't play to go there and chat. We need a better smoking area that is used. Really amazing work organizing by nom and his helpers.
Well, it was under planning and I had told people that this is one of the things in the todo list, and there was garden chairs reserved osv osv, but I run out of time with this and others mostly stopped working when people started to arrive. Then nobody asked about this during the whole fem and people seemed to be fine with standing outside so I did not start carrying the chairs and tables to them. In general there was quite many things left half-done due to lack of time. But ty especially for jon for building stuff when people already were playing and for example for terb0 for organizing a final working push at that point as well. :) These helped a lot. However, in general the working phase at this point (people already arriving) really does not simply work, it has been seen every year. People want just to chat and set up their computers and put stuff to fridge, nothing wrong with that. But it is impsy to at the same time control others what work there is still to do and welcome guests and instruct them from which socket one should take power from and not to be mega stressed. There would have been an opportunity this year to have everything ready before people come (because of long preparation time), but unfortunately failed with that. For next year I want a helper or at max few helpers (too many is unnecessary because there is not that much stuff to do anymore and big group is harder to make work anyway) to come several days early and set up everything before any actual guests arrive so that I and the helpers can fully concentrate on chilling and welcoming guests when FEM officially starts.

About arrangement work during FEM. The best thing is that the house and also the hayloft were kept cleaner than ever. People did actually do dishes and empty the dishwasher and keep biowaste and trash out osv osv! :) I did not have to do any of that stuff myself, which allowed me to concentrate on other things and not worry about those during FEM. I am not sure about this, but my current understanding is that the biggest thanks should go to AKB and finman. Probably did not mention other important names, sorry about that. However, the toilet was total horror already before FEM started, I was hoping of cleaning it before guests arrive but did not manage unfortunately. Would have been nice to get it cleaned during FEM, but it was then cleaned only at the very end, first by Zweq and then then final cleaning by Luther. Also one negative thing is that for the first time ever nobody returned any cans during FEM, it took some time away from cleaning to return them on Thursday.
Ramone wrote: 24 Jul 2019, 13:25Need better planning of Elma-events for 2020 20y anniversary meeting. Im too tired to explain now. But many more knows and agrees.
Ramone wrote: 24 Jul 2019, 13:25But I would not attend again if the planning of events wont get a major step up.
We already talked about this, there's gona be a pre-defined nazi schedule next year, stapled to the wall before anyone comes. =) Why there was not such a schedule (and why there has never really been one) is because of

1) I had no time to think of the schedule really. Will not be a problem for the next year.
2) Often there has been lack of contests (at least pre-made, then for example Ramone has made quick TT cups etc to fill gaps). Certainly not a problem this year, a proper planning would have been needed to fit all to weekend.
3) Sometimes some people have not wanted a tight schedule, but IIRC I have not heard such opinions for years, so should not be a problem now. Instead, people for example made the google spreadsheet by themselves when I did not, that was nice.

My parents were in general surprisingly happy about everything, which was a bit surprising and relieving because they were very much against this whole thing for years in every possible way, and I knew they will see a lot of alcohol consumption and drunk people which they usually are very negative about. I guess they were in general happy that people from many countries came there and liked the place etc (compliments about the place is the best way to make them happy) and talked with them. However, there was some problems as well. Unfortunately they got bad impression about some people when they came around and tried to talk to some people who then did not acknowledge them. Also they are super tidy, so by their standards the house was too messy. They would hope that when people are allowed to stay at their place (which is their life work) for a very cheap price, they would respect them and their property more by being polite and keeping things tidy. But they are mostly positive about everything and also very happy for getting some small rent now for this, so everything will be oke.

The next post will finally be about payments, trying to get into that tonight.

you expect too much of mans. I think most mans are clueless how to build anything out of wood, rope and duk tape. You're lucky jonsykel visited this year, he seems passionated about that stuf.

I was talking about other things, I was trying to do building myself and with jonsykkel =) But you are absolutely right with being lucky having jon there, and luckily also zebra, igge and finman were into building things.

I have already got few very good payments (ty!!) so it looks like we will reach the goal. So don't be shy in paying less than the norm price if you are tight in money and/or you are discount-eligble :)

Better to write late than not at all imo, so

Not my first elma meeting in general but my first FEM ever. To say in short, hopefully not last, was too nice. Everyone already knows their contribution in it imo, big or little, thank you, every organiser and helper, thank you, every attendant!

Random memories i got right now, random order:
- taking shortcut FF route to scuplture park with pawq, Ruben and danitah by accident, that was a bumpy journey
- FEM run being slightly harder than expected because didnt run for a long time at all, didnt run at full potential for last laps to skip muscle pains the next day, then elma slowmode-feeling playing on warmup
- Ramone insisting on me to play enigma with him live spying, playing lame, then random WRing when he goes away, shouting WTF and mans rushing to my place to check wat happened, unbelieveable :D
- seeing terb0 smiling and taking pictures of pol-mans arriving to him from train, dressed in PEM shirts and a random finnish gadget provided by jblaze
- hanging out with jblaze, b0ne and Zero on the swing bench
- wow b0ne secret vid, wow Stini AI recs, didnt expect such a thing to ever happen in elma
- random Ramone rages and amusement shouts <3
- coming to my room on sunday evening, seeing my bed to be gone and making wut face, didnt know it was terb0's own one :D

Can someone pls put those on recs.zampik?

Limpsy recs are like the sickest things ever, would love to see the best SL (or non-SL) atempts in those.

thx very mucho
First zweq & bene finished (TAS) limpsy05, then adi finished limpsy04, and now i finished limpsy06! I joined the legends!

btw, I saw dream of FEM2020. "Elma 2.0" was just released by jonsykkel and I though it was fantastic. Zweq said it was "just OK". It had a feature that you could sort internal levels in any order you like! Very usual feature... :D There were also base times for all levels. Bowling had base time of 1 hour and 6 seconds. Zweq said he had already beated it. I couldn't believe. :D
