I don't know what you think about this but I don't think this is an effective way to sell shareware software; most successful shareware software is hyped to the limit but then I suppose Elma 2 already has its market secure even without being announced at all...
In case you didn't know it, Elma is not a game made by a big company with infinite funds. Elma was a spare time project by some programmer in hungary named Balasz. Give him a break.
And Elma 1 is all advertisement you need for Elma 2.
Juski: Elma is shareware. There is a free version you can download and if you like it you buy the full game. That's the definition of shareware.
<Fihlvein> another case of zworqy-is-always-right closed i guess
<yoosef> zworqy doesnt suck at anything
Juski wrote:it is? i thought shareware was a free software you were suposed to distribute as "commercial" ;X i read thoose small texts too much.
No free software is supposed to be distributed as commercial, that is the anthitesis of free software.
Anyway, I know it's made by only one guy and that's precisely why he should hype it a little bit more but as I said I suppose its market is well secure, we'll all be playing it anyway, screenshots or not.
Well, he might have a "secure market" between us few kuskis who are obssesed with elma. But that's not enough, for the game to get any kind of succes he has to reach a bigger range of ppl.
Well I was doubtful that any supposed emails by Balazs that were posted here were true but here's the thing. FACT: Elma 2 is in the works and will eventually be released. Balazs actually replied to an email I had sent him, he took almost a month to reply so it kind of shows how busy he is with real life (I should definitely get a some more of that). He says that he's still working on it but from his words I got the impression that there's still somewhat of a long way to go but maybe that's because none of us were writing in their natural languages so who the hell knows. Anyway, Elma 2 is definitely being worked on.
I believe on it to.
And those emails i have posted are real.. believe me. But if you don't, your decision.
He took 2 weeks to reply my emails... think he has always used 2 weeks for mine.
CAN*T WAIT!!!! ARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!

You said, "the scene will be destroyed", so I assumed you meant the whole elma scene. Yeah, I don't know what'll happen to elma1 when/if elma2 is gonna be released.
Can't decide wether it's a good or bad thing. I do expect that I'll play it, and that the scene will expand some in the beginning. Hmm, just the thought of it makes it exciting.
There is no need for Elma 2, but then there's no need for pizza when just bread will do.
But a lot of people like pizza, especially when cooked just right. Thing is, that can take a long time, and maybe some people just can't wait that long, get frustrated, and eat the bread--thus spoiling their appetite for the glorious food to come.
I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't mind a really darn good pizza--even if it takes a few years...
