ok bugs seem to be fixed, there are some other might-be bugs

1. it takes more PCXs when dumping - I think this is cause by window mode

2. some bug 00422d appeared a few times but not since I uploaded last version, if someone get any bug like that, report it here, I'll take a look

3. kd got some bug inside DLL, that might have been fixed, case it happened in some not really debugged version

anything else?

Occasionally mine freezes up for a second or two, really bad when like this: "was about to make Steppes WR with 9:xx but then freezE??!! OmFg?!?!"

so that crash before was caused by elma because it cant show kuski exactly in the middle of the turn or middle of handshaking
it happens very rarely in normal elma (but does) because time is double variable and its simply not very probable (i can fix it though)
in balle elma it happened because event data from other kuskis were packed to a few bits (4 + 4)

with that lagging :
there was one bug in odl version that caused sending data every frame (could be 1000fps) and server didn't really make it
SO IF THERE'S ANYONE STILL USING OLD VERSION, DOWNLOAD NEW ONE, OTHERWISE YOU CAN BE AN ASSHOLE KILLING OTHER'S FUN!

don't know if it can help you wieloryb, but i know that the background color of the picture, which is transparent in elma, is given by the left top corner pixel color of the picture.
so check that pixel's color
tomorrow, i stop.

it accured to me twice that suddenly when i press "Play Again" that i was completely alone in the lev. That could be fixed by restarting elma.

It hapenend to me for several times (i think it hapenend a lot more often but i didnt recognize) that i didnt see one specific player until i restarted elma.

Otherwise (it has been said a thousand times in the last days) this is great fun!!!!

I think that the file bmp must weigh 16.x kb. When I did my bmp it was weighing 44.x kb and it was like your bmp. Later I did it again, it was weighing 16.x and worked perfectly.

the problem is that 'level played' is sent through tcp so it won't get lost, but it's much slower, and if it gets lost (there are some aknovledgements), it's resend automatically..
so if it gets lost, it takes a few secs till it's there, I had the same problem a few times and always thoe kuskis appeared after 10-20s
i might send that msg as udp and resend automatically each 20 frames..

anything else?
layer...i har fullscreen mode and it took 2 or 3 pcx'

and once when i started elma i had error message "SetDisplayMode (setresdd) did not succeed!
" and elma didn't start. it saved this msg to error.txt inside elma folder. but it happened only once

this happened in earlier version, before debugging, so i dunno if it is fixed now

edit: tested newest bs9 and it took 2 screenshots in fullscreen

just to make things clear :
in fullscreen mode pcx dump takes much more than in window mode
in old computers it took a secs or two so you always took one pic
in new computers if it's pretty fast, then it takes more pics, the better comp the more
and in window mode it takes more almost always becasue the dump is faster
it has nothing to do with this patch (i guess)

i wonder why "offline" elma 1.2 saved only one .pcx while ballelma saved 2, both 1024x768 fullscreen.

btw would it be pasibel to do .png instead of .pcx?

I dont think it happens often but yesterday we played downhill and on my computer I was the one who was first but on palmes computer he was first.
And we started always when he turns 3 times. On my computer we started at the same time but on palmes I was starting 2 seconds later!?

Is that a bug or just a connection problem?

A few mins later everything was ok!

(And thanks for this greate version =) )

you see others from the past and now its set to quite high value (375-500ms) so it runs smooth
this value wasnt ever changed (no tries) so it might be possible to lower it a few times
the min working value will be set when we move to jcl's server

list of reported bugs, requested changes and possible updates

bugs :
1. sometimes it's possible to spy others on other level (kd reported, I wasn't able to recreate) - should be fixed, dunno whats the problem
2. lists are doubled if connection crashed and you restarted elma till ping timeout. It's because data for different users are not recognizable yet - not really necessary to fix (add id to message - might be same for 1.)
3. kuski is twice in the list if elma crashed or he restarted - no need to fix
4. elma sometimes crashes - i'll increase the tolerance around 0.5 in turn to non-zero - should be fixed
5. lists have more columns one line before they should and last column is empty (i reported, noone else noticed 8) ) - should be fixed - ez

requested changes :
1. first flower rename to first finish - ez
2. add same countdown for that first finish as for one-life balle - ez
3. add password check (after reg site is done) - ez, but need to implement some crypting
4. setup ftp for lev files - ez if i get the ftp site

possible updates :
1. autosave best balle rec file and do up/download via ftp - hmmm complicated
2. chat - even more complicated
3. add balle queue (or only one next balle) - ez
4. key to free fifnished times list
5. widescreen elmaconf

add anything you want... elma project is now 'on hold', i just started some other, but i might find a few minutes to do some changes over the weekends

Is it supposed to be liek this, with no ip showing, coz when im trying to start belma i just get a gray screen and nothing happens, then when i check the log file it says 'tcp connect error', so i guess it's not supposed to be liek this :/

When me ciph and a few others were playing I set up a battle first to finnish the lvl on internal and I was the first to finnish on headbanger because everyone else kept going down pipe and when i hit f6 and at the end of the battle there was no results. Not sure if that is supposed to happen or not. Anyway Im loving ballelma! Can you save replays on ballelma?

i remember when the server crashed (someone restarted jcl's server and didnt restart ballema) during your balle a few days ago (and didn;t work for whole day till i got home)
dunno what was the problem with results, i played a lot and didnt have any problems
you can't save replay of all players in ballelma (yet), you can save your run same as before

ya it was just that one scenario that it didn't show the results when i hit f6. anyway mali i'd like to congratulate you on making this program and tell you how great it is. Kinda gives the elasto game new life and i can't even think about how you made the program. Must have taken a lot of skill, time and effort. Anyway thanks again.

some skills are needed but wasn't really hard, I guess many would do it if they really try
took around 2 weeks to get it to work and then month to add all those stats, balles and stuff, a bit more than I've expected
it was quite fun:)

fixed bug with across levs - wasnt possible to start balle with those
one other minor bug reported - map should be centered two when spying kuski or turn same way(centered easier, no need to change messages)
also found one balle bug that allow players to cheat, tested worked, deleted 'time' from db, might be fixed in some other version (nobody else knows yet)

no bug, but it would be nice if you could only see the dude you are spying, and not all the other's, that's extremely annoying on short levels.
