Maybe your monitor doesn't support the resolution you are trying to play with? Seems like that.

Is it possible to get peoples info? like:

Code: Select all

tijs NED [MK]
jt HUN [OMG]
etc
I wonder because I'd like to battle my levels and add the stats to my site.

a list of times for 1htt-battles would be awesome!
chat in menu would be nice for when you die and lose the message. (EDIT: Same for dl/ul of levs and recs)
also, more letters per line.
i guess a switch for vsync on/off is kinda impossible?

awesome work :)

What I really would like is a feature that automatically archives old levels and replays to another folder, so that the belma lev/rec folders keep clean. You could even think of sorting those by day.

Might be bit too much work though. :?

uh btw.. would be max if the levpacks could be stored in different folders. Or maybe subfolders in Levfolder (and recfolder).
But if its to much work not important, belma is already max =)

so things to be done (so i won't forget)
1. balleline should disappear when lost connection (it can stay there forever then)
2. some old style lev didn't really work well (probably fucked up top10 erasing)
3. fix one might-crash bug on the server (i better not tell which one)
4. add registration check and also message on the client side if wrang
5. various changes in the daatbase we've discussed with skint0r

..if i do any update, new versoin will be required but only dll will be updated so no need to reconfigure again

milagros, can you do something about the bug that in menu if you press for example 'w' the helmet moves to other place? I get that also with Ctrl+right arrow (i have alternate brake in ctrl) which is annoying.

by the way, you can get all the buttons to F1-F12 buttons if you really want:
F3 - observe prev player - can be removed (i have never used)
F5 - F6 - F7 can be combined because they are never shown at the same time
That gives already 3 empty buttons.
And i think 'hide leader from battle status text' is pretty needless anyway.

I was just wondering this, so you wouldn't have to try to find some places for extra buttons. But of course this is not very necessary, and it's already good as it is now.

agree to all.
actually instead of just hiding leader text with that button, it should be hiding almost the whole line, leaving only the timer as that's the only important thing after you started to play battle and want as few distractions as possible.

milagros, can you make F12 button to immidiately reconnect to server?
Because it's max frustrating when you are playing a 2 min long lev
and in the end the connection breaks up. The game doesn't notice it yet, so I can't press F12 to get the connection up and my time to results.
I have already lost maybe 2 battle wins because of this.
I know this is due to bad connection but still wouldn't it be easy to make the F12 button work immidiately, before the 'lost connection' text appears?
I think, if you press the F12 and the connection is still working, it would be ok if it just breaks the connection and reconnects right after that.

I also experienced max lag in chat (i said a line and it popped to chat maybe 5 mins later). Maybe this was also due to the connection or how can you explain that?

You can download levels and replays because they are outbound traffic. You make the request to do something eg. download a level or replay, and outside world is the target, which is the server in this case, and it serves you the level. Outbound traffic is usually allowed by firewalls on workstations, because they assume that you have free access to do what you want to the outside world.

Uploading a replay on the other hand is inbound traffic, because server requests something from your computer, and you serve it, that is replay in this case. Also starting a battle is inbound traffic, because server requests your information and you give them to server. Inbound traffic is usually blocked with firewall by closing ports and making them silent, so that outside world cannot communicate with these ports.

So I'm sure your inbound policy is configured on firewall in a way that it it doesn't allow traffic originating from server to your computer ports 4460-4462 (or what ever is the correct belma port that is used by server to connect to players computers). So basically you should open these ports and everything should work again.

If you are behind a NAT, besides opening ports (allowing inbound traffic to these ports), you have to configure a port-forwarding on the router, or what ever device is handling the NAT process for you. Basically you configure it to forward all traffic coming to belma ports 4460-4462 to be forwarded to your computer IP-address. This way the belma traffic will continue even though NAT is on, to your computer to correct ports.

Hope this helps. I'm not completely sure if the replay uploading goes like this but it's as I've seen it :)

Edit: oh by the way I don't know how milagros has configured the FTP-system. If they use standard FTP-ports then that has to be taken into consideration as well...

standard FTP ports are used (port 21 was it?), it doesnt even go through server
btw i should change it so that if level is not uploaded, its not added to the queue (before it was possible to upload it manually and link to irc or what)

Q: I'm playing but I can't see noone eventhou they told me they waz playing!
A: You probably hev to do a so-called port forwarding for your firewall/router. Check http://www.portforward.com/ for more info.
The thing is I'm using my moms computer as a router. Any idea of how to fix this?

fixed some bugs on the server (reconnect, ..) and some details others (veezay, ..) requested and spread new version, you dont have to download, i think ive fixed only that leader 0 apples and conf prog in the center of one screen (didnt spread startballe yet (lazy)

list of all known bugs that are not fixed yet and things to do

1. irc server can have access flood
2. server stops accepting connections after 24h (might be fixed)
3. balledesigner ingame still sometimes nat work
4. internal error quite often (nat happened to me)
5. normal elma crashing (finally)
6. ballequeue should be accessible from php
7. private messages in chat

let me know if ive forgotten about some

anyone knows when is the ballestarter not shown ingame? (since last update)

when it happens :
is it hidden for everone?
was the balle from the queue, normal, or any?
did ballestarter close the startballe?
was ballestarter connected before those who don't see him or after?

.. i cant repeat it on my server, ive tried all combinations and always works, so answers to these questions would help

Not a bug.. but would it be possible to add "Tie winners" so it says something like "You won the battle with a tie to XX" or whatever :P and also so BOTH or Every player in the tie win can upload their rec?

Code: Select all

Battle over: There's a tie between Player 1 & 2

1. Player: 32.31
2. Player: 32.31
3. Player: 33.42
Nothing special.. but sometimes it's nice to merge sach recs =D

Well it's not a tie since one got the time before the other.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
