Elma 1.3 aka mila-Elma aka milma

Post by Abula »

milagros,

could you please make some official, bug-free, not-released-in-a-rush, patch including all the new cool things? Long rec names, multi over lan, this balelma thing, wide-screen, what else? It would include the Elma 1.2 features of course.

It's ok for me that you make all these 'unofficial' patches and release them for bug testing in early stage but to get something permanent, something better, you really should give some thoughts and time for making one great official version.

Then it could be added to Elasto Mania version history.

Thanks

you know, elma is not my full-time job, i can really do some patch only when i have time = no work and so on..
usually any bigger feature (like ingame chat, ..) takes a while (and many times 2 months till i find time) so it's always good to spread the latest patch
this last patch didn't really take long to do (was quite ez after all, only debugging annoying) and many new features seem to be more time eating
if it was as you wish, the final version would be done in 2 years or smth
so i think sometimes it's a good idea to spread some bug-free version with not all features

Yes, I understand you. I know that my way to do things isn't the best either... Paprika ready in 5 years etc.

But unfortunately in your way we never get anything permanent. Only fun for a moment. Well, that might be enough for most of us/you.

IMHO, Belma has evolved to this stage now (except online multiplayer). Maybe some new intro screen needed only.
<Fihlvein> another case of zworqy-is-always-right closed i guess
<yoosef> zworqy doesnt suck at anything

yeah i'm really looking forward to 'eol' multiplayer battles in belma :) if they ever come, that is. really, imagine to compete in battle cooperating with anyone you want.

I really really like the idea of belma being Elma 1.3 but if that's the case I think the connection to server should be made with some key, not by default as it is now when you start belma.exe.
