state.dat upload on Elma Online Site?
So I've been thinking, and that's the idea I've gotten from a few others aswell, that it would be good with state.dat upload on the elma online site, so the internal records will not only contain times driven from when it's released, but so people can have all their best times there and wrs will be there aswell and such. So would like to know if everyone else thinks this is a good idea?
Also if it should be there, how should it work, only best time, all times from it, and how should it handle second time you upload and such, and is there any way to make sure people don't state edit?

I am well confused by this post. You pretty much saying the records should be updated or you talking about getting moposite like that site that automatically updates when you send in state.dat?

i think only best time should be shown but it could be clicked to view details like average, top10, etc
and possibility to share rec with check marks, if its not recorded from belma, then possibility to upload internal recs

That sounds nice. Just upload times once and then play in belma, get updates automatically there.
And, second-time uploading could rewrite whole own stats if theres sach top10 or so?
Uploading recs on internals is not very good idea.

state dat upload seems good idea, problem is with the current WR's people like T0r and stuff who don't come online wouldn't be uploading it, so WR's would be inaccurate.

as usual, wr replays and suspiciously good times might/will be asked for by admins to check legitimacy.CuLiNo wrote:yes and berh will make cheated state dat and ez wr

Re: state.dat upload on Elma Online Site?
Yep, this is indeed a good idea, if it's implemented well.
If state.dat uploading is possible, this could be the replacement of moposite records-section. I remember we discussed about this with Abula some years ago and he had big plans which features the new records-section would have. As we all know, paprika never got ready and probably won't ever be, so this new idea about state.dat uploading is more than welcome.
Kopaka, you should discuss with Abula (he's in irc daily) about this thing. He might lead you to the right direction. I remember that I suggested him that this new Elma Online could replace the records section and he said that he would like to have better statistics for internal levels than for external levels. You know, all the wr statistics etc.
This could be also merged with the idea of rec uploading. Anybody could upload a rec for any of his times and choose who can see it. For internal levels (and why not for externals too) there could be a separate option 'official record' or 'validated' or something meaning that some of the admins would have checked the replay and accepted it.
About the thing of the worse times in state.dat: if you decide to include some average tt:s or such, then they are needed. Also a player could send a rec for worse time, not necessarily for his best time. How is it handled in battles? Are the worse times sent to the database? Or when playing an internal level online, are all the finished times saved to database? If yes, then you certainly should save all the times. When merging the times from state.dat, you could ignore the times which are already in the database, in the same way it's done when state.dat and merge.dat are merged by elma.exe itself.
