Some 38.low-mid should be quite ez with this style, but I always get some part wrong :< major fakaps in this rec at 14.70 and the 20-22 parts, end quite poor too :< have a couple of style ideas for various spots but orka test live, might try SL later. This would be an amazing WCup lev imo, not even exaggerating!

some quick SL efforts in recent battles:

http://recs.zamppe.com/replays/355/show?0ri96750p3870SL
played this one live for quite some time, but got tired of fucking up everywhere and decided to do a good run without spending 100 hours on it

http://recs.zamppe.com/replays/356/show?jbl1032p10992SL
this one didn't even bother playing live after balle, just wanted to see what time was pos with an ok style

Lol and all of these pops are legal?
<Pawq> at a gym you have only 3 options: 1. have your eyes closed, 2. stare at yourself, 3. stare at others, all of which are either super boring or disgusting

None of them are legal. Just a bunch of massive bugs, that should never have been in the game.

Pops are legal just like bounces. Doing multiple 1-frame pops at 75fps in real runs is not practical, even the one at the start might not be worth going for.

saying wheelpop records aren't legal is like saying glitches shouldn't be used in speedruns which is an attitude that mostly died off around 10 years ago (at least it should have). if a bug is part of the game, intended or not, it's legal. period.

I don't completely agree. For example games that have a glitch where you can skip to the end really early will usually have a category with that glitch not allowed, or simply not allow it in the main category if the glitch makes the speedrun uninteresting. In elma we don't allow bug bounces for contests mainly because they are unpredictable. I guess the best arguments for wheelpops being allowed is that we can't really disallow them now since there might have several wheelpops in old WRs that we don't know about, and wheelpops are not detectable I think. The only difference is that we now know how to do them consistently (30-45FPS, depending on lev), and how to get extra powerful ones (75FPS: Only been useful in SL so far AFAIK).

In elma I think it would make most sense to divide it into 2 or more categories based on FPS for SL table, but dunno if enough SL activity to warrant making the categories. Don't see any reason to divide it for live runs.

75 fps pops are easy enough to do live that you can do them in the start of levels live. Mid run has not happened live yet.

It's just a shame that pops are not particularly aesthetically pleasing I think. A good bounce or brutal is similar to a complex maneuver in ballet, but a pop looks like the game engine just farted for a split second.
