going backwards from int 54 it could be imo:

int54 godlike should be 1:15:00
int42 legendary should be 48:00. - My basic 49:02 made years ago does not feel close to being legendary
int40 godlike should be 1:21:00. - that 1:20:90 is mebe oddly specific :bear: - also bjenn is super closely missing that
int38 legendary could easily be 29:40 or 29: 50

intermezzo 1: At this point it started to seem to me like some of those targets are tailor-cut for zweq :bear: And also some are made in such way, bjenn is barely missing some of them.

int35 godlike 2:13:60 is oddly specific again. IDK what should it be, though
int34 godlike is 36:44. Wtf, really? bjenn has 36:47
int30 agree w/ bene
int28 godlike is a bit too impsy. idk. Maybe with zweq's deep knowledge about that lev it could seem like godlike time is 46:90, but 47:low or even 47:mid seem godlike to me enough.
int25 godlike is again suspiciously specific 24:28, when zweq has 24:26
int21 godlike is a bit too tough, imo. Lev is very overhoyled by Nekit and 14:40 godlike target is just plain impsy without that much time invested into this specific level. At Table #300 WR was 14:41. Maybe 14:42 or :43 feels godlike to me.

intermezzo 2
: at this point I kinda stopped thinking what I was thinking at intermezzo 1.

int15 godlike is again a bit too impsy, but what do I know.
int14 nicely done targets. Specific, but for a good reason, imo.
int6 godlike - it may seem like it was tailor-made target for zweq, but 30:30 seems like a godlike time to me. Ez keep it.
yes, int3 legendary seems ez

------------------------------
Overall I love new targets. Maybe it was put a bit more thought in the first half of the levels, but mebe I am incorrect about this. Also I want to point out, that everything I wrote is just a suggestion for more knowledgable mans.

okthxbye

int34 I set the target to 36.45 which is a bit easy. We found 36.44 rec and used that to have same time as rec. That's why oddly specific. I think int34 should be harder and int18 easier. It has nothing to do with bjenns pr.

28 was easier but spef said it's too easy. Spef has old wr with old style and it felt normal and there is a public faster end that no one(maybe zweq) has played. I think it's nothing wrong with it just few players.

In all levels many people are close to a target, time can be on either side of the target, close to having it or close to not having it. What can I say, you can make conspiracy theories about almost anything if you only see what you want to see. I don't really care so much about targets although I have to say I prefer having a purple color on my times :) me very like - colors.

I have heard many people say LEG03 is too easy and I'm also starting to agree about it. I will edit it to 17,80.

I think you find LEG42 time easy because you're skilled at long levels and a lazy hoyler. Different people will find different targets easy. For the record the current progression in int42 is now 00:47:40 godlike 00:48:20 legendary 00:49:30 world class, which looks fine to me. It's more about the target progression in a level and targets feeling somewhat consistent throughout levels, rather than 'x time in lev y doesn't feel legendary to me'.

GOD28 has many new styles published by finman, bjenn and madness, it seems nobody has played them yet. I have taken that into account.

LEG30 can stay then, I know nothing about the level anyway.

GOD06 Well ironically it was 30,20 or 30,25 in the initial draft and spef said it's too hard and I edited it to 30,30.

GOD34 was already edited to 36,40 actually.

GOD35 I also don't have any idea about, it's less than 2 seconds off the wr in a very long level, GOD15 is almost 3 secs off the wr. Following this logic GOD35 should be at least 2.14.50. But again, there are new styles and I took those into account.

GOD21 is indeed far too hard, I will modify it to 14,42. It was 14,41 or 14,42 initially, then we asked nekit's opinion and he said legendary should be 14,40 and godlike 14,25. That's where the 14,40 came from.

GOD54 yeah it's quite rough at the moment, but people haven't really played that in ages, and it's an easy hoyla lev compared to many other long levels. (apart from satanic-triangle-hang in the end)

GOD40 target is already mega ez, should edit it to 1:20,50 because max ez hoyla lev.

As I stated above, after checking two thirds of those targets (intermezzo 2), my theory started looking stupid to my too, but I still felt like I want to share it

Code: Select all

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
anyways, najs answers mans, thx. Me likes to hear thoughts behind those targets (I am rarely on discord).

Sug reminder: Review 07 and 24 for very first finishers (both with mega-brutal ofc) + make rounded tts and not random ones like WC 38:09,32.

Why you want rounded tt? I think its a very bad idea to change targets to shittier, just because of a round number.

Yeah I don't understand rounded numbers we don't make targets to get a specific tt. We get a specific tt after making targets for specific levels. It was calculated way after making the targets. It just happened to be rounded 35.09.00 this time :bear:

I agree with Sla in the sense that I think that there could be separate total time targets which were not calculated just by summing up the individual level targets. Those separate total time targets could be rounded. For example:
Beginner 1 hour
OK 49:00:00
Good 43:00:00
Professional 40:00:00
WC 38:00:00
Legendary 36:30:00
Godlike 35:00:00
A winner of 4 GAA's (mc2 included), winner of mkup206, and a proud member of team TAP.

The way Zebra presents it makes more sense to me. I was reading Sla suggestion as "Edit individual level targets so sum of TT is even".

I can make TT target be different from sum of individual if that is something that mans want.

Sounds good to me =) should then be mentioned on elmastats somewhere tho

on a side note, it would be great to have a link to the targets somewhere on elmastats. Or maybe just a list of coloured targets on individual internal pages, maybe above the times, or maybe in the right panel above all internals, or maybe somewhere else?

This was planned to do early after release of new targets because bowling was bad. So changed some other targets as well. Dunno if I will change again for 10 years.
