Pirate LGR and Lev

Post by ville_j »

So... I've been working months with new lgr, Pirate.lgr and finally it's ready. It took me long time to make it, because every pic and animations are selfmade, I haven't ripped anything. Also designing the lev and picturing it took much time, you'll understand if/when you play it.

Pirate.lgr is of coz about pirate ship. I've done the lgr only for my Pirate lev, so it's different style than for example default.lgr. You can't use Pirate.lgr as a default one, because pics are named differently etc. Also, it may not be easy to create new levs with this lgr, because some pictures are designed to fit just the place where they are in my lev. Of course if you are smart enough to use those pics in other situations, it's possible to create some nice levs, though they will look very similar. So basically, the lgr is designed only for my original lev, but you can use it if you want, I'd love to play some more Pirate Ship levs

About my lev then... Idea is, that you are somehow managed to make your way to the pirate ship with your motorbike (how's that possible.. ). You drive through the ship, and collect different colored gemstones (=apples) on your way. This is a very first elasto adventure in a pirate ship :D

Here's the link to d-load the lev and the lgr:
http://www.grafopoint.com/load/Pirate.zip

Give me your opinions about my first lgr (if that sucky greedy.lgr isn't counted, which I don't even have anymore) under this topic.

that really is awesome. cool idea to make an lgr for a level, though rather cumbersome.. the ship reminded me of mariobros3 end-level hoovering ships for some reason.

Chux, I am very sure I didn't rip those animations. I made the objects with Lightwave, and then rotated and rendered pictures of them in different angles. I can prove it, I still have those objects in Lightwave and all pictures, which I rendered from them. But I must agree with you, flower looks very much like Sonic rings, don't know about those Chaos Emeralds.

extremly nice lgr and lev!

I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be played with animations on or off?
when they're off it's really cool with the different colored emerals. And when they're on it's just plain confusing.

Viper_Killerguy, I'm not sure what you mean. I've played it with animations on, and it doesn't look confusing... what exactly is confusing when animations are on? Or then I just don't understand... Anyways, nice that you guys like my lgr :D

And to all mongos: If you're using Elma12, check that you don't have that "default ground/sky" feature enabled.... if it is, the whole lev looks shitty and you really can't play the lev.

8-ball, as I said, I've made this lgr for my lev. So it's like part of this lev. I didn't even try to make it so that other designer could do levs with it. But sure you can, though not so different, as you said.
Nice to notice that so many ppl like it 8)

hello, I'm diggin up another topic :P

Here's my try to make pirate level, download. Nice LGR, levels are pleasant to watch at, but it's hard to make some. If Ville care, i can list few things that should be added/improved.

P.S: this silly thing in the middle of my lev is supposed to be a boat

1:37,xx 8O , Markku rules! Someone please upload the rec again!

btw the lgr is excellent, and the lev is a complete one, good illustration of the lgr. Almost 10 seconds over Markku for me.
