Movie: World Cup 5 - MP for the win

Post by Kopaka »

World Cup 5 - MP for the win
This is an Elasto Mania movie based on World Cup 5 held last year.It follows the best players of each event and the race for the World Cup win.

I've wanted for a long time to make an elma movie. So after World Cup 5 I got the idea to make a movie on that. But the big problem was still to extract the replays to video files, hence I got very happy when milagros made the framedump patch.

See a few screenshots here.

20mins 32 secs long.

I made three versions, 291 MB, 144 MB and 75 MB.

You can download and read more on Kopasite.

oh... to tell the truth i've been working for this movie for quite a while now,... and i was keeping it in secret so surprise would be even more pleasant... as i see now , it was my mistake.
damn all this work and effort went for nothing Kopaka, i couldnt finish it first... had so many great ideas, awesome soundtrack and effects :(

That's sad.. But hey, nothing wrong with having two of these movies out is there? =)

How far from completion are you then? ;S
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

annoynig things:
not enough fps, (skint sda video was much smoother)
confusing with player and parts of level changes (This is only my own fault for not playing wcup levs)
weird effects (what's with the rusy black/white, there's also some fade effect with almost 10 secs of abuot 100 pixels)
slowmotion annoys me, for me atleast, it makes it harder to see the trick (because i'm such used to certain speed and grav based no that speed), maybe this is just because a incremental slowmotion effect have been used (don't know if it has)
Gets a little creepy at the end with the pics of mp.

Other than those few things, it's a bloody brilliant movie.
Especially liked the part where axxu's silly mistake loses him the cup.

What vk said (except for mp pics <3). When people complained about music in my video I thought it was annoying, but now I can relate to them. You could at least have the songs run for more then 20 seconds at a time ;S. Also a bit annoying that you never really got to see a complete run on a single level.

I knew kopapop was bad, but seems like i had no idea :S
Otherwise it was quite enjoyable, especially if you never seen the recs like me. Grats kopa, you get medal.

Kestas: You snooze you lose ;)

The file got deleted from filefront so for those who have not downloaded yet just have to use archive.org mirror.

always nice to see elma movies :D
currently downloading the hq version, cant wait to see it

...

allright, just seen the movie, it brings back the nice wcup memories :)

but... the low fps is quite annoying, especially at the slow mo parts

offcoz theres alot of good things aswell:
* many soundtracks (but maybe a bit too many, but fine with me)
* nice effects (only not the pixel mania at ~14:50)
* different parts of players on the same lev
* and the nice end

pros:
Elma movie, not that usual so always nice to see one.
Good replays.
The ending part.
mr´s rec at pipe event :P

cons:
Music (my opinion) was really painfull to listen
Quality was too low and the slowmotion parts annoyed me a bit.
Overusage of tehh pixel effect.
Always changing music.

I thought music was pretty decient seemed to change a bit to much like others said. On one of the standings section u got mp down there twice but i really liked seeing mr messing around and axxu screwing up that one section it was fun. pixel going to blur was anyoying like others said just hurts my eye's in that part and when it has mp 3 wins in a row part that is confusing. where can i find mp's gaa nominated replay on i think it's wc09 can't find anywhere thx.

Why all the negative feedback? The movie is great. Especially with the comments and such between the events. It made me look forward to WC6.

i liked this. the fps prob didnt annoy as much as those parts where slowmotion was used. and that part where it was totally blury for sometime was sucky, also songs clips could have been longer. besides those i liked this video. mp vs axxu thingie was good too. very nice end with pics of mp, also quite max song there.

and to kestas, finish your video and upload it, i want to see it.

Kestas, I want to see this kind of movie this time with cool special effects, and of course, another (cooler) soundtrack

and I hope, that if you ever finish it (which I hope, too), you will use ... a better lgr than Kopaka used (you know, that sky is ugly). on the other hand, this kind of sky (download the lgr) is nice. well, if it isn't too late to use it, of course!
thank you for hearing what I had to say
