Post by Xhomaz »

LOS CUP 3

It's official. Another sequel to the infamous LOS Cup is about to see the light of the world.

Cup will start on monday october 15th, and there will be a total of 8 events (so you don't have to play your ass off).

There will be high-class levels of different types, designed by me.

Cup site is here: http://jockstrap.k10x.net/loscup3

Now please spread the word and we'll enjoy a well arranged, fine cup!

I have never attended a cup like this before and have a few questions as to how it is organized.

Is it so that the first event/level will be available for download on the announced start date? Will the next event/level be available after the deadline for the first event/level, or will all be available at the same time?

Is it required to be a part of a team, or can I compete as a single person?

What versions/patches are allowed? It's been a while since I played Elma, and I can vaguely remember something about certain patches not being allowed for WR's. Not even sure which patch I have at the moment, but it has the ability to increase resolution and left/right/center placement of the bike.

Is it even worth attending this cup for non-über-kuskis like myself, or are everyone welcome no matter what level of skill one might have?

As a member of LOS I'm of course obligated to play, but I'm sure it will be fun as hell :D

To AusDerReihe: In LOS cup there are usually one new level to play every week, and you can dl the first lev at October 15th. The next lev will be available after the deadline for the first lev, and so on.

You don't have to be part of a team to play.

The Elma version thing can someone else reply to, but your version sounds legal to me... Would be surprised if it's not...

Everyone is more than welcome to play. As Xhomaz say: "the more, the merrier."

Dunno if I should play because I'm almost always last player inthe results and I don't want to be known for my worst results as Zworqy.

In my first year (even years), i was always ending up in the last players too. And i don't think i am remembered for my suck ass times in MopoKup1. (you can laugh at me here)

you can't beat affraid of ending up last in some events, it just happens

All patches (that is, 1.1, 1.11, 1.11a, 1.11h, 1.11hb, 1.2 and belma) are allowed to use for making WRs (you have version 1.2). I don't think there's any way of knowing what patch a replay is driven on anyway.

It's while playing cups I've had most progress in my over all elma skills. I remember playing Master Cup (1), and after the cup I could easily improve all my internal recs... Anyway, my elma skills are still quite nab, so I'm going to use LOS Cup 3 to improve...

And Boneless is right too. Quite a good example he used as well;) I'm sure there are some similar results including me from LOS Cup 1:P

Xhomaz, when the cup will end? Is it one week per level, so 8 weeks?
Because Polarix [TR] would like to start a cup and I said him to start it after all cups.

8 weeks, yeah.

It would be nice of Polarix to start his cup after mine is finished. That way both cups would have more players.

Tomorrow is the day! All the levels are done, and I'm looking forward to cup start. There will be a fair mix of höyl and style-levels in the cup, starting off with a 30 sec höylä level.

Confirmed. First level will be up at 16.00 CET. It's probably the shortest level in the cup (around 30+ seconds), so 7 days will be enough playing-time.

LOS CUP 3 has started!

Level for event 1: http://jockstrap.k10x.net/loscup3/LC301.lev

Deadline is monday 22 October, 20.00 CET.

Please note that this is basically a one-route level. If you were looking for a style/trick level, you'll get that in the next event. I figured it was better to start the cup with a level like this. This is also the shortest level in the cup.

Enjoy!

you don't have to write your time anywhere (except in mail)

1. You play the level
2. Before deadline, send an email to xhomaz...

see rules here

Yeah, but that topic is only for fun. If you want to participate (And I think everyone should), you have to read the rules, and send me your replay before deadline!
