zebra wrote:3) About the thing that in the 1vs1 phase for example 3rd player will be against 29th and 4th player against 30th. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Well, the list is taken from an official source ( http://www.sptl.fi/liitontoiminta/Saannot_0607.pdf page 24 column 2). It's made so that in the following rounds the better players will get easier opponents, so there are also other rounds taken into account, not only the 1st one. I don't fully understand it so maybe someone else who gets it could explain it better.
eFse7en wrote:Hi, at first i would like to thanks team tap for arranging such great event as TEC. The levels are very nice so far, and it contains many styles.

Anyway when i look at the cup table it little suprised me. I played many table-tennis torunaments, and in every 32 player single or double-elimination set-up torunament player 1 was playing against 32 and 16 was playing against 17.
When i gathered pairs from acutal table from tap website, and sorted them by lower number here is what i've got:
1 32
2 31
3 29
4 30
5 26
6 25
7 27
8 28
9 17
10 18
11 19
12 20
13 21
14 22
15 23
16 24

I know that the pairs combinations contains furters pairs..etc. but the first pairs are little weird to me. Specialy look the very big difference between oponents of players 16 and 17 (24 and 9). I think first round pairs should be more like this:

1 32
2 31
3 30
4 29
5 28
6 27
7 26
8 25
9 24
10 23
11 22
12 21
13 20
14 19
15 18
16 17

So the worst place you have the harder oponent you get (including the first round). For me it's obvious.
Here are the tables for the 32 single or double-elimination set-up table that have the same pairs as i told before (but of course in other order):
Polish table tennis federation, prints and terms (page 35)
Air Hockey Resources

I think that single-elimination set-up is more obvious, more fair and from my experience the most popular.
So is there a possibility to change the actual cup sets for the new ones?
Thanks for your explanation. I have been wondering what might be the reason for that strange order, but haven't figured out any good reason, only the one that I tried to explain. There is high probability that the pairs will be changed as you suggested.

Actually, like this.

Battle between axxu and kd tightens when kd won the 3rd event with time 1.08.42, congratulations. Check the results and 4th lev here. The lev is pretty easy this time... :) Playing time one week. All the upcoming deadlines will be on Wednesday.

4th event over, won by axxu. It's now the last event of the first round. Now it's time to make tactics how many points you want to get from the next event to get an easy opponent to the 6th event. Remember that only 32 best players progress to it.

Ok, 5th event and first phase over. We have now the top 32 left who advance to the 6th event and 1vs1 phase. See your position from our web site. Notice the cup table.

The next level, or levels, are the biggest which I have made. That's why you have two weeks time to höyl it. Make sure you are not playing the wrong version of the level (there are those 16 different versions). Good luck :)

Ok, 6th event is over and we are down to 16 ppl. We got some surprising winners too, check them from the site. All the 16 winning recs are worth watching. You can get maybe a different view to the level if you watch them all than if you would just see your own result.

Good luck to the next levels. All the rest events will last for one week. But note that even though the deadline is still Wednesday at 18.00 GMT, it's now 21.00 EEST, not anymore 20.00 EET because we move to summer time (jappe insisted to do this like that, maybe it's better)

Schumi noticed that there was an area in the middle of the lev which wasn't used in any style. So I made an extra version of the lev and Jappe2 made 44.22 in it. You may want to try if you can beat him ;)

We are now down to semifinals and have only four kuskis left: axxu, Labs, Memphis and kd. Who will win? See the earlier events levels and results from the site, they are pretty nice to watch.

I mean, that i liked all quarter-final replays and 8a seemed to me less tricky.

30:89
31:01
31:01
31:02
31:04
31:04
31:05

at the end of cup it was look like a thoughtless dissipation of the levs of extra class.

kd ought to take 32 place in the first phase. then we would known the winner much earlier.
