Preannouncing battles

Post by Ramone » 20 Jan 2011, 13:06

Sometimes people spent abit more time on levels and host 60 min battles. Some of those times very little people play those levels and battles doesnt turn out as good as it could have. Here you can preannounce when you plan to battle a little more "wellmade" level.

Tonight swetime somewhere between 18:00 and 19:00 I will start a 60 min FF I spent some 3h making yesterday (plus maybe 1h testing after it was done, I did not manage finish).

Its kinda uphillish but all parts tested and Ramone-approved ;)

If this sounds nice, come EOL tonight!

Nice site for time zone converting o,o
For example I converted 18.00 GMT+1 to 15:47 Hongkong time.

Nice site. I always think its a bit hard converting between time zones but this site displayed it simple and clear.

Edit: wtf? 18.00 GMT+1 to 15:47 hongkong?? you must've done it wrong. I got 18.00 GMT+1 to 01.00 the following day.

Lal, "very simple" yet u get different result. It still takes time to go google or wherever and find the site and then select the time and from what u convert and to what u convert... the list is endless! Avoid all this nonsense and write gmt in the first place, I expect everyone to know their gmt time.

Got an idea of challenge, so I tried to reach a few people to get in. Now I succeed to persuade Ramone (who told he stopped making levels :D ), FinMan, jonharkulsykkel. So we are 4 opponents because I'm in too.

The idea is to generate a level from NEW!, then all opponents get same level and edit see who makes best. Yes I know this is subjective, but whatever, this is just a friendly challenge. When its battled, designer ask people to rate on the EOL site.

The level gonna be this (it can be renamed):
challmw.lev

Design must be done when received because you have about 1h30 to make it.
So CURRENTLY BATTLED LEVELS, let's see who wins!

P.S. This is closed challenge for other designers, if you like the idea, I'll restart it later.

Here are the results:
Kekkone by FinMan 7.5/10
mw0270 by Mawane 7.5/10
One857 by Ramone 10/10
jon042 by jonharkulsykkel 8/10

Gratz Ramone, indeed amazing level!

It would be nice to see Mopobattles revived. It's nice to have great battlers playing at the same time instead of just random battling all the time. I don't think this topic is useless, but the announcers need to give exact times instead of "sometime tomorrow".

That looks awesome Mawane. I'd really like to see the winner's replay afterwards. Could you upload lev and rec here or least link me to the eol page after it's finished, please? I think this would generally be a neat thing for all battles preannounced here.

Thanks in advance

Yesterday evening I balled a test event of the forthcoming LOTTO CONCEPT LEV in a closed beta group. It became an instant hit among the players, and now - not even a day later - the real deal is here:

FUN-FRIDAY LOTTO
The idea is, it's just luck! I give you this level:
Image

It is battled as a one-life battle. You must choose the path with most apples to win. You cannot know which path is with the most apples (unless you try to cheat, but you must be very quick because all you have is one life and you might be dead sooner than you think!). I know you may think this is retarded... but hey, who isn't?! So come and join the FUN-FRIDAY LOTTO.

Prizes:
1. The winner will win The Lotto and get called as a lucky piece of shit, unskilled player etc.
2. Runner up and all the others get to read/write comments how the event sucked and was shittiest balle ever... that's going to be exciting!

Oh, and ofc the most important thing: The timing of the FUN-FRIDAY LOTTO:
The event will take place somewhere around 1308326400 (unix time) so be sure the get in EOL at that time!
