You got points by the amount of kuskis beaten and winner got a little bonus along with that. I think that system could be improved.

I'm open for suggestions. Or I think that Kopaka is open for suggestions. He will be the one who makes the statistics. That 100-85-75-pointing system could be ok.

mopoballe #31 had 44 players, which seems previous record with a quick peek at the statistics, so I guess awarded pts based on number of beaten players would be imbalanced with the old days. Then again, it was always imbalanced. Then again2, half of the 60 players in previous battle probably didn't even know a) what is a mopobattle b) that the battle was a mopobattle. EOL gives a lot more players automatically.

Btw 19 or 20EET would be better for the russians

Another points scheme could be the one used in the FIS World Cup contests; where points are awarded to the top 30. They go like this:

100-80-60-50-45-40-36-32-29-26-24-22-20-18-16-15-14-...-1.

In this scheme, vs the MC3 one, a win means more relative to the other podium finishes. Also, points are not awarded to as many players.

I think awarding more players would encourage more nabs like me to play. It's always funnier if you can compete with similarly nab friends in who gets most points, instead of both getting 0 every single event.

I'm not saying I need them, I'm just asking why not? I'd rather get like 5 points, then 3, then 8, then 3 than 0, 0, 2, 0. You can still make winning more beneficial without removing points for the nabs. I'd still play even if only top3 got points, it'd just be a tiny bit less phun.

I'd say top 30 is good. It's more rewarding for nabs like you to sometimes achieve those points, insteaf of just getting a couple every round even when driving poorly. How much do you value prizes from those skiing competitions for 5-year-olds where everyone gets a spoon?

If enough spoons would eventually allow me to build a super spoon, then I'd be much more excited about that, but I get your point. Frankly, I don't really care. I was just thinking it would encourage other nabs who care more about stats and sach.

It depends on the player amount. If we anticipate that we will get over 50 players on average, then ez points for top 50. Otherwise could be top 30.

Last battle was mega nervous! I lead through first half of battle and then Kazan took the lead, my last run was decent and was all about the end which was really hard, 5 seconds before the battle was over I got my first good ending ;D Heart went like crazy =)

A fixed amount of points like mentioned would probably be good when doing these seasons as I believe we are doing (then could keep the old point system for an overall statistics page aswell). But then maybe a couple compulsory skips, like we've had in some cups which is good if you miss an event, and missing a battle is even easier, so I think it would be good to give everyone an even chance.

In that case just do it so that (of those that have played all battles) you erase the worst two results or something. If you have played 8 of 10 battles then, no points will be erased. This is better than people having to choose events to skip.

But I don't think this is really necessary.

I agree with SveinR. Selecting 8 best out of 10 is here better than having to skip some battles.

Battle 168 was played: http://elmaonline.net/?s=battles&b=29868

1. GRob [ngt] 00:31,91
2. Zweq [WNO] 00:32,10
3. Madness [SPEED] 00:32,58
4. jblaze 00:33,06
5. Lukazz [BAP] 00:33,07
6. Hosp 00:33,17
7. Bjenn [EF] 00:33,22
8. ScHuMaChEr 00:33,36
9. hehe 00:33,46
10. SveinR [TAAF] 00:33,67

This time it seems that all top 5 used the same style. The next mopobattle will be on Monday at 21 EET. What will be the situation then? We'll see.

zebra, it would be great with a reminder on the day the mopobattle takes place. i don't put the dates in my calendar (i don't have one) or anything like that, and when it's just posted here that there will be a new one in 3-4-5 days i will almost certainly forget it. would be a nice service

Could each Mopobattle be announced on Moposite perhaps? Or would that make the News section too cluttered..

Edit: I see the results of each Mopobattle used to be posted there in the past. One could then easily announce the date for the next at the same time.
