Ok, I wont make then. I just thought since nobody else was making and this project is moving pretty slowly I would speed things up.

as the awesome project is now gone i'd like to "take it over" and make it kind of a tribute to Marck, who surely would love to have finished it
of cours if u guys agree, ill be talking to those who made their parts in the order of making and i'll do my best to make it look as close to Mawanes wish as possible

I agree. This shouldn't be abandoned. It should be finished and battled as a tribute to Mawane.

Reviving the project with Pab. After the HALF release didn't have much energy to work on the level.
We have to gather the missing parts and end the level somehow. I also want ChainPie worthy visuals. That will take quite some time since many of the parts are very unpolished.

Contact me or Pab if you want to be involved!

Good bump. I took charge of the project for now. Quick status is that i have finished merging the last part with the level (igge sent me his part), tested all the parts separetly and did minor fixes everywhere, testing took me about 4 hours. The last meters are ahead now but they will be the hardest ones, basically it has no details yet and it needs more testing for playability (its big lev). Also it will be impossible to match mawanes proness, so it will take time to make it as oke as possible.

Right now i dont have the time and energy to keep going. Im having some very complicated weeks, i will have some break after the 2nd of the next month.

at first i was supposed to finish the level with zero, but from what i've heard from zero, the project was taken over by pab, as he was mawanes team partner.
i will contact pab and tell whats the situation.

first update: pab probably has full/most of the level but its propably not designed. we will take next steps when pab finds the level (he is not able to do it at the moment) and see whats the progress like

I'm willing to help with the lev any way I can. I chatted a bit with Mawane about techniques for making pipes so I think I know his basic philosophy quite well at least. Are you sure you have all newest versions of parts? At least I did a few revisions after mawane tested it, so it's possibly not newest version depending on where you got it.

oke, there was some mess with who should take care of it through past years.
i finally received what has been done and im working hard on getting the project done. dani and zero are also in to make it as good as possibly possible!

i think the level will be finished in november. so will be battled november/december.

theres no indolence now. it took way too long already.

Re: ChainPi4

Post by jblaze »

yeah yeah!

the level is very close to be finished. time to set a starting date. the options are:
- 14/15/16 december. (to give some spawn between announcing and battling)
- 21/22/23 not good because its right before xmas
- 28/29/30 right before new years eve. too close or not? feels like a lottery. the presence on lets say 29th might be big as well as very low
- 4/5/6 january. i dont see any contraindications here. and much time to "prepare"

share your opinions, which date do you think is most suitable?

tune your pipe and FF skills up. its coming!

After a long time, we can finally and irreversibly say it is ready.
We (this time me and danitah) have done what our dear friend who shared the same passion with us could not finish due to the unforgiving destiny, although he truly wished to. The friend is Mawane.

This may come nowhere near to replace the emptiness, but here comes an opportunity to recall all the good memories that he had brought us and will stand as a tribute for Marck.

So, the ChainPi4 is coming at the 13th january 2019, 20:00 GMT+1 time.
There will be some sneaks each week. Follow and, most importantly, be there when its battled.

Final list of designers is, as follows:
1. Mawane
2. Zero
3. Pab
4. DanielJ (danitah)
5. jblaze
6. nick-o-matic
7. koopa
8. Zebra
9. FinMan
10. ville_j
11. niN
12. Ramone
13. Jappe2
14. Devin

The ChainPi4 is a bit shorter than ChainPI3. A decent smooth run may give you around 29min finish time, which makes Pi4 around 4-5 minutes shorter than its younger cousin, Pi3.

ChainPi4 will be extended with Devins old pipe level. (probably) the only pipe level he has made, devo004.lev. this will stand for a tribute to our recently decedent friend, and best Mawanes friend, Devin.

this is all suitable and necesary leak for today.

Yes it sounds like the ultimate way to release Mawas last contribution. I'm very proud to have a part in this artwork.

I want to pay my respects to all those who took and still make time to finish this. It is a very beautiful thing to do. Will anyone make a video of winrec and put it on youtube please?

Thanks, lots of love.

Re: ChainPi4

ChainPI4 feels easier than ChainPI3.
There's no gravity pipes.
There's less "uncomfy" pipes (explained in painting) than in PI3, especially towards the end. These are known for being much harder to control and can be very dangerous when your hand is shaking near the flower.
Image

nIN, zebra, Ramone part were kept with original grass and pics, rest was pic'd up manually, autograssed and fixed.

The lev itself doesnt reach the size limit of eol level, but it was decided not to push hard on making it ultrabig, as Mawane said
Mawane wrote:First off, and sorry if you wanted an even longer level than both previous ones, I would like to reduce the lenght of the level so I don't have to remove so much nice stuff.
in first post.
The second argument not to make it bigger was to keep it kinda original - leave it where it stopped (with an exception of jappe2s lost part being renewed and Devins tribute part being added)

There is 247 pipes in the level. Obiously, some of them have to be piped through more than once. But maybe some of them are avoidable too? Its up to you!

Thank you jblaze! the only thing i would have changed is shifting Devin's part closer to start as hardly anyone gets to the end and we need to keep memories about the guys alive
