mawlimination - Final: Mira vs Lousku - There is a winner!

Post by Sla »

Rules:

Cup Site

To participate you only need to registry playing first event on EOL, so first eliminates will be on 2nd event.
If a player didnt play registry event, he isnt allowed to participate on cup.
Each event will be 30 minutes of duration.
"See times"
Events will be at 20hs GMT+2 http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/gmt-plus-2/ on Saturdays and Sundays - two events on saturdays and two on sundays.
On semifinals players can decide at what time of weekend or maybe during week they want to play against each other (ill see what time range ill have).
Elimination stage could take from 2 or 4 weekends, depending of amount of players.

Would be nice if you dont start any balle from 20hs to 21hs gmt+2 on weekends.

System

Events - 20 Players
1: registry level -Sat
2: 4 players out 16 left -Sat
3: 3 players out 13 left -Sun
4: 3 players out 10 left -Sun
5 3 players out 7 left -Sat
6: 3 players out 4 left -Sat

Semifinal
(In this stage players can decide at what time they want to play against each other on weekends or maybe during week).
PL1 vs PL4 --- PL1 wins
PL2 vs PL3 --- PL2 wins

PL1 vs PL2 --- cup winer: PL1
PL2: Second
PL3 vs PL4 to define third pos

So on saturday 28 there will be two events: Log Lev and the first event with eliminates (note that ill define amount of eliminates
once i know how much players loged on registry level)

RESULTS AFTER 3rd and 4th EVENT:

Sounds fine by me!

Do I understand correctly that there will be a registration stage and only people that registered will count?
Because otherwise there always will be some stray Chrises with 1-2 apples and it will take forever to eliminate them all. :P

Let's say there are 40 players in the first event and next events are every Saturday and Sunday. It will be next to impsy for anyone to be able to play every weekend for 20 weeks in a row. This type of cup works better with longer events, a couple days minimum

True. Axxualy i had the idea of 4 events per weekends (2 on sat and 2 on sun), What about that? Or what about 1 event per day? Or maybe this: 1 event on lets say: tuesday - 2 events on sat and 2 on sun?

I want to discuss this and get the better way to hold the cup, so thx for opinions ppl.

I'll just throw in my two cents.

I think maybe longer events (a few days maybe) in stead of battles makes it easier for mans to find time. Sure some will have more time to hoyl, but it will never be fair anyway. Then maybe eliminate more mans for the first few events.

Let's say 30 participate.
Eliminate 5 first event, 25 left.
Eliminate 5, 20 left.
Eliminate 3, 17 left.
Eliminate 3, 14 left.
Eliminate 2. 12 left.
Eliminate 2, 10 left.
Then eliminate 1 for the last 9 events.

Otherwise I feel it will go on for absolutely ever, or someone will be away one day and be eliminated.

Sounds good that in the first events there are more people eliminated. The final showdown could be held during one night dedicated to these levs, with only eliminating 1-2 players per battle. This way the total duration would be short and people wouldn't need to arrange time for so many days total.

Re: mawlimination Cup - Suggestions

Sounds better yes. Thx for tips.

So cup could be like this:

For example: 40 players

1st event: 5 players out 35 left
2nd 5 players out 30 left
3: 5 players out 25 left
4: 5 players out 20 left
5: 3 players out 17 left
6: 3 players out 14 left
7: 2 players out 12 left

And then:

Player1 vs Player12 Winer: PL1
Player2 vs Player11 Winer: PL2
Player3 vs Player10 Winer: PL3
Player4 vs Player9 Winer: PL4
Player5 vs Player8 Winer: PL5
Player6 vs Player7 Winer: PL6

Then

PL1 vs PL6
PL2 vs PL5
PL3 vs PL4

Then last 3 players play one event and 1st pos wins

PL1
PL2
PL3

Winer: PL1

Note that if we play 4 events in total on weekends, ppl would only need to arrange time for 2 or 3 weekends. Cuz when only 12 players left, players will be able to play against oponent whenever they want, (player1 and player2 decide to play on tuesday at 13hs gmt+2 for example) so ill upload level for them.

Oke? Thx Orcc, Ruben and all. Lets keep disscusing please.

Isn't 15h GMT + 2 a bit early?

I mean usually most people online are at... say... 20-21 GMT + 2. Wouldn't it that be a better hour? Ofc, when heads up players remain, they can decide the hour that suits them best, but until then... imo 15 GMT + 2 is kinda restrictive... for some.

Personally I prefer the idea of everyone playing the same levels together till the end. That way the most consistent player wins and you're not so likely to get eliminated too early by for example one guy getting a lucky run in head-to-head battle. Of course it will be harder to find suitable time for everyone (and of course other mans might prefer those head-to-head battles).

Maybe with 10 kuskis left the rest of the cup could be arranged during one night. Three battles with two guys eliminated in each, then three more with one elimination until the winner remains. That would be from three to four hours depending on possible breaks. The levs will need to be either battled or started in EOL cup, otherwise there can be others cruising without hidden mode.

I meant 15hs in Argentina :B So 20hs GMT+2 yes.

About what Orcc said i think hes right but i like head-to-head mode too. So i mixed both: players eliminated until there are only 4.

40 players
Events:

1: 5 players out 35 left -Sat
2: 5 players out 30 left -Sat
3: 5 players out 25 left -Sun
4: 5 players out 20 left -Sun
5: 5 players out 15 left -Sat
6: 5 players out 10 left -Sat
7: 2 players out 8 left -Sun
8: 2 players out 6 left -Sun
9: 2 players out 4 left -Sat

Then:
(In this stage players can decide at what time they want to play against each other on weekends).
PL1 vs PL4 --- PL1 wins
PL2 vs PL3 --- PL2 wins

PL1 vs PL2 --- cup winer: PL1
PL2: Second
PL3 vs PL4 to define third pos

Orcc: about levels being battle, i didnt get your point. But i had the idea of battling them until 10 players left or so, and then uploading levs manually so ppl download it and play for 30 mins (ill count times from 0 to 30 mins) and also i dont use server for only a few mans and the rest can play EOL normally...

Pos? Wrong?

Exactly same for me! I hope I won't miss some important info - most important is the rule "To participate you only need to registry playing first event on EOL" ...this event, whenever it will be, needs huge advertisement and also a reminder! I wanna play this :)

The number 5 was an example for a 40 players cup, with the current amount of players (20) i adapted numbers of players out on each event. You can check it on cup page or first post (updated now).

Thanks for playing. Hope to see you and rest on next events.

EDIT: Players who got extra life can skip or finish last on one event.

EDIT2: One thing i dont know now, is that after 3rd event, there will be players out, but i and you wont know exactly how must play and who doesnt. Maybe there should be 30 mins between each events? Im not talking for tomorrow, just asking for others events...

imo 5 lifes for pro players isnt very good idea. They all the same reach half-final now, and not-pro players haven`t chance to do it.

Perhaps it would be better to change 1life -> -0.05 sec , for example? Or something like this.

True, didnt think in that. I already used that rule so i wont change, but yes, its a big help for players who can easily get first positions.
Do you think that option could be used for example: 10th player gets extra life. So this is very random thing cuz no one can be sure of finishing tenth on any level.

I know there isnt anything set in stone in this cup, but im testing it for the first time, so im sorry if try to fix some things/rules during cup. Thx for patience and for playing.

Today 20hs GMT+2 3rd event (3 players out - if you dont play, you are out) and 20.30hs GMT+2 4th event (same).

I think maybe the bonus should be interesting/fun rather than powerful. For example, the winner of the registration stage gets to choose the author of the next lev ("we have levs by Ramone, umiz and roope: which do you want to see in the next event?"). Something amusing like that.

Lous: ya maybe bango and no, they cant and it wont be repeated. Did that cuz Boomer told on 1st event. Wont do that on the future then. Also various players out of the cup cuz not playing events. Hard do get all players at same time.

Pola: I dont think on next.

Kucha: Extra life only valid for elimination stage.

Anyone else suporting idea of 30mins break between events? Next saturday is last two events with eliminations, then semifinals where you can arrange same time with oponent.

6th Event finished with a little surprise from Andry001 on first position. Him and Mira on semifinals with Lousku and adi. kuchitsu and TL out.

Semifinals

EDIT: I wont have notebook now, so players can play tomorrow. Talk with eachother to arrange same time, write here and ill be there to upload levels. During week i have too little time only after 2hs gmt+2.

Good luck!

EDIT2: Levels to be played will be named "mawsemi1" for adi vs Mira and "mawsemi2" for Lousku vs AndrY001
