is it poss to create a program where

while you playing some lev, you could see other diaphanous bike which is riding some rec file from this lev? for example your best-time ride.
it would be very useful imo

What I would like to see is some kind of LGR Maker / Manager program with a live image preview.

Some wanted features:

- Keep hundreds of LGR-ready images in folders.
- Add as many textures/objects/masks as you want (and easily pick out images from a list).
- Live preview to see what your LGR will look like.
- Import images from LGR files.
- Ability to distinguish between Default colour palette and custom colour palette (with appropriate warning messages).
- Convert images to default palette.
- Know the limits of LGR making, eg. number of images, image sizes, total file size.

>> I made a basic image here so you get the general idea. <<

I believe a program like this would make LGR creation much easier for nabs and stop them from asking others to make LGRs for them.
We all have our own individual tastes when it comes to LGRs.

I'm not sure that demand is really there for such program but at the very least it would be good to have technical details and limitations (I didn't know there were limits) to http://wiki.elmaonline.net/Technical

I'm assuming there are limits because some LGRs I've made in the past have returned internal error messages, and removing images or downscaling particularly large images from those LGRs have fixed the problem.

There are some additional infos about LGRs in the Big Book of Elma Facts, which is featured on Elma Ultimate DVD. These infos also could be added to elmawiki.

I support the idea of such advanced LGR editor. However, there are problems which are hard to solve even with a cool program, like making textures perfectly tileable, or converting a detailed image from 24-bit to 8-bit without messing up the details.

Nice, but it only says that neither height nor width of a picture can exceed 255 pixels. Nothing about how many pictures you can use. Is there a limit then or not?

tree4.pcx is more than 255x255. Only the head needs to be less than 255x255 as it is stored in memory differently, and the bike size cannot change as there are fixed coordinates. No other comments about normal pictures etc.

Decent demand imo. If you look at Sla's page, theer's a surprising amount of LGR's, and lots have been made in recent years too, even with tools that are nat that great. Lots of people also hev personal ones that they haven't uploaded. A proper comprehensive program for mayking LGR's would boost that activiti. Also theer seems to be no tool for specifying the palette of a LGR, apart from lgrdk.
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?

Here you go. Lgr limitations (and file structure). Also discovered that qgrass.pcx is a hidden texture.

Alternative: Often im browse lev folder with page up and down buttons, enter a random lev, get internal error and hev no idea what lev it was. So an alternative request would be some kind of tool that shows what lev it was. Dunno if pasibel.
I think a better idea would be to have a delete function in-game, along with a not-exit-on-internal-error. Which was also what I was going to request.
