Elma Grand Prix 2 - RESULTS UPDATED IN FIRST POST

Post by Ruben »

What?
Ladies and gentlekuskis, this is the moment you have all been waiting for. Six brand new levels are done, trialled, tested and ready for battle. They are longer, shorter, harder, easier, better and worse than last time. Prepare your anuses for:

ELMA GRAND PRIX 2

When?
Elma Grand Prix 2, or EGP2, will be hosted this Sunday, 4th of September, at 18:00 GMT. Be there, or you will miss the greatest and best contest in the history of the world since the first Elma Grand Prix.

Where?
EOL, you should know this by now.

Rules?
Almost the same as season one, but with a few minor tweaks. Over the course of 70 minutes you will be faced with six different levels of varying length, speed and complexity, each with a battletime of 10 minutes. Points will be awarded to the top fifteen finishers of each level according to the table below. Once all levels have been battled, the points will be counted and whoever has the highest total of points wins.

In short:

Total event time: 70 minutes

Individual level time: 10 minutes (plus 2 minute breaks between battles)

Number of levels: 6

Winner: Whoever has the highest total of points at the end of the event.

Points awarded accordingly:
1. - 20 points
2. - 17 points
3. - 15 points
4. - 13 points
5. - 11 points
6. - 10 points
7. - 9 points
8. - 8 points
9. - 7 points
10. - 6 points
11. - 5 points
12. - 4 points
13. - 3 points
14. - 2 points
15. - 1 points

Prize?
Yes of course, just like in the last season the winner will receive a funny picture in their inbox, which they are free to share with others or keep to themselves. In addition, Zero has allowed me to award his prize from last season to the entire podium. Much is at stake, so you better go practice your hoylmuscles.

How?
Uh...

Why?
I dunno, stop asking questions.

Good luck, and may the best kuski win!

I hope it rains then, but it's no stress if people can't make it, there will be more EGP in the future.

Zero, as the current Champion of EGP, has asked me to award last season's prize not only to this season's winner, but to the entire podium. This means that 2nd and 3rd place also get a prestigious, funny, and thus far very rare award, and if you win you stand to gain TWO hilarious pictures. The stakes are higher than ever, so no time for romping round, this is serious business.

I'm terribly sorry to say, especially after so much shameless advertising, and only an hour before start, that the contest has to be postponed to next Sunday. This is due to an irl crisis that just could not be forseen. I hope this isn't too disappointing, and I hope to see you there next week.

It is disappointing but now I'm even more stoked. Such "hype tactics" can be good sometimes. :)

I was quite frustrated at the time, so it may have seemed more serious than it actually was. But it was disgusting, I can tell you that. Before the GP starts on Sunday I can tell the very icky story in Discord of what happened.

uh ye it was close :D( grats, at least the winner has won one event
amazing fun, just like the 1st edition. feels like the levels were bit more stylish than before, so it felt more tough and exciting.
cant wait for the next season!

also: this kind of contest gathers many players at least for that one hour, very nice to see 30 players in a battle (fuck, it was so common to see 30 kuskis in 2010 n 2011s)

This was a nice competition once again, ty for arranging and I agree that is nice that it brings many players together at the same time and there is a concept and it's not just some regular battles. I liked these levels more than the ones the previous one had. I have to say that these kind of short battles and hoyla levels have a bit more luck factor, the individual battle stats are probably riddled with all kinds of happy and sad happenstances; you can win or lose just by accidentally having a certain fps or getting just slightly different bounce, because every hundredth counts and also there are some fps dependent tricks... but that's not actually criticism for this event, I should probably create a separate topic about that because I've had a few discussions about it lately and now felt like talking about it again. But this event is nice as it is and short battles and levs fit it nicely. But actually, I would like this to be a bit longer, maybe two hours or so, but then again maybe people can find the time to participate this because it's so short and doesn't require much commitment, so it might be a bad idea to make it longer. Well anyways, looking forward to the EGP3!

ty 4 ar8nghz.. i think 02 was a bit lucklev for 10 mins. And 04 was high fps oriented lev, although adi did report that he used low fps and still almost won, so duno anything..

Thanks for the GP, glad that you postponed it with one week. The levs were nice and battle time suitable. These kind of things are what get me to play nowadays!

Levels were pretty good. Also 10 min battle time seems quite perfect. Anyway for me optimal number of events would be around 10, so that whole cup would take about 2 hours.
