elma wont work

elma on my com has not been working
when i go to the shortcut the screen goes black and then just back into windows
i have tried to uninstall it but when i do nothing happens
when i go to reinstall in different folders and stuff it says its done but it has done nothing
i have gone to add/remove romove programs and done it that way but it still has no effect
does any one know what is wrong or will i have to re buy elma

No you don't have to rebuy it. Balazs (balazs@elastomania.com) can send it to you if the files are corrupted but they're not most likely.

Have you done anything radical before you noticed first time you cannot run Elma?

That happens to me all the time. When launching Elasto Mania, the program jumps back to Windows, but it leaves the program tab at the bottom of the screen. However, clicking on the program tab (usually) won't bring the program up again. But just restart the program and it should work. (It has never happened twice in a row for me)

yea it used to do that thing with the elastomania thing in the task bar.
but know it doesnt even do that.

my freind has it to ans i went and got it of him. thinking that all new prgram and all that stuff it mite work. but i didnt so i am wondering if there is parts of elastomania somewhere on my com that is stuffing up the rest of it.
but i really aint that sure.
may b its trying to tell me to give up elma and go out and get a life.
i sure hope not

when i turn off directx in winxp elma quits automatically when i start it . maybe your directx is corrupted/missing/anything?

sorry abula neva saw this b4

yea i fixed it, i cant remeber whether it was before or after reinstalling xp but it was a direct x problem any way

i d/loaded the latest version of direct x and then totally got rid of every elma file i had on my computer (firstly saving state.dat to disk)

then i got elma of my mate and reinstalled it and it worked, there may have been one other thing i done as well but i cant remeber, i will post if its important.

this problem turned out to be very good for me as after reinstalling elma and a car crash i have been 0wning my old times. so it can be a good thing

If I wanted to start Elma i had to change game res to 640x480 and 256 colours. But now i fixed the problem with Hztools, I downloaded some months ago.
