elma very laggy

Post by Comet »

Hi guys.
I have a problem.
Recently i did a format to my pc.
I 've kept the elma folders to an external hard disk
and i 've put it again to my pc.
Now every time i try to play both elma1.2 and eol are very laggy.
When i put a lev, for example warm up, i can see the time pass every (almost) 10 seconds.
It 's not playable anymore.
I 've tried to change resolution and stuff but nothing happened.
My pc runs windows XP.
Any advice?

I had a similar problem, at least kind of, could be connected anyway.

Had eol on ext. hd and it ran smooth ONLY on my own pc, anyone elses cpu, couldn't run it from ext. hd

Solution Nro1: dload d3d windower, set it up (annoying as hell), run eol in windowed mode, should work.

nro2: copy ur elma folder to ur cpu and try running again (somehow running from external drive seems to cause probs)

....Unless ofc if Jon is right and you don't have your graphics drivers installed, then it's high time to install them :)

i don t think it s the drivers. i believe i didn t forget to install any of them.
i installed d3d windower and it works fine.
By the way i was always running elma from my cpu, i wasn t running it from external hard disc.
And the problem remains but i guess i could play it in window mode from now on.

Also check that you haven't set the screenshot button to enter or any other key that you could press accidentally.

Sorry about that.
I would follow jonsykkels idea. Lookup what Graphics card you have and download the corresponding driver from manufacturers website, probably Nvidia or AMD/ATI.

Try to set Vertical sync to Always OFF in Nvidia Control Panel, and see if it makes any difference.
http://windows7themes.net/how-to-disabl ... ows-7.html Go down to and follow instructions where it says "Disable Vsync for NVIDIA graphic cards (NCP)". Probably not gonna do any difference but worth a shot.

1. Can you describe the lag more in more details?
Does elma freeze? How often and for how long?
2. Have you installed all other drivers, for example to the chipset (motherboard)? You can check this by choosing "manage" when rightclicking on My Computer I think.
Then go to Device Manager, if you have anything with yellow questionmark, check what it is and try to find a driver for it o,o

Simple answer, you don't. My post was a joke if you didn't get that ;D
But I'm quite sure your question was ironic.

No problemo hermano!

Madness: Maybe you could use it as a beer opener! Do you mind sending a pic of your L2 cache? I have never seen such with my own eyes, since they are built in to cpu or mobo.

I doubt it. It would mean that your monitor refresh rate is set to 0.1 Hz.
