Eol Facebook site says: Server is down due to issues with the RAID controller. The host has replaced the hardware and is working on restoring the data from the backup server.

I just set up our old friend battlebot in #battle to alleviate your pain, feel free to join and play some oldschool balles while the server is down!

Now I'm confused, in the middle of a battle I noticed no new times were updated. Tried to refresh, and it said I was connected to the server, but I couldn't see anything, every list were empty and the battle was gone.

Protip: When that happesn, it doesn't help to press F12 multiple times. Wait till it says "connection lost". Then press F12 and it usually works again.

Hi.

I got disconnected twice during one balle (slowness), both times just as I was about to finish with a winning time. This balle:

http://elmaonline.net/battles/106944

Once about 4min before end, then about 20s before end, both times just after I picked the second apple. Finished with a 2:15 the second time.

I'm not really that pissed about that balle (a little), but what the hell is going on here? I see 3 options:

1. I was in such bad luck that the only times I was disconnected in the last 2 weeks was during that balle, both times in the same spot (1/10000000000 chance?)
2. EOL bugged and for some reason didn't accept my second apple and instead gtfoed me
3. Someone's having innocent fun disconnecting people (hi berh2)

Any hypotheses? Kopaka?

edit:
Reefer said that after balle he was about to finish with some 13mins and lost connection just as he took the 2nd apple, so must be a bug?

Looking into it a bit, it does look like there's a bug with anti cheat detection, it's detecting you twice and reefer once in that battle. Which would kick you. It seems to be a rare bug though, that particular reason for kick has happened 243 times in total and some of those might be genuine cheating. Probably not likely we can do anything about it, but if it happens again let me know.

Is it possible for you to identify what the cheat detection thinks I'm doing? I just tried again and the same thing happened, exactly as I picked the second apple on the way to the flower. Is it due to the lev? Maybe because there are so many flower objects and eol gets confused with the number of the object as I pick the second apple (e.g. thinks I picked a flower or sth)? I think it would be good to identify the problem to avoid it in the future. I'll try a couple of things with the lev.

Probably hard for anyone other than mila, but send me a rec of it happening, so we have something concrete.

Help please.
My friend tried EOL yesterday and without draw.dll file, the images on game were bugged (i think like typical bugged elma screens - gold). Then he added draw.dll and what he managed to see is this:

Image

The resolution he is using is the same i use: 1024x768 Zoom 1.25 and in the same operating system as mine.
Have anyone ever had this problem?

Looks like the resolution of his screen is something like 1920x1080, when you use ddraw and smaller res than your screen it will look like that. Either change res to that of his screen, use ddraw_change_resolution.txt, or play like this.

Hi, my name is Alan.
I have got my dear comp after 1.5y where i didnt have EOL installed, now when trying it, i noticed (no im not high) that when i go to rigth after pressing enter on Play again the bike takes a while to acelerate. Going to left seems to work ok. You can see here a merged rec with a normal Warm Up rec (player1) and the slow player (player2).

The turn is instant, I think it's a keyboard related problem.
Try this: when you press enter and turn, hold the turn button longer. I think the gas will start as soon as you release the turn button, or it can be turn+enter.
