National forums

Now when we have the Russian board what do you think if we added more languages? And what languages? Finnish, Swedish, Dannish, Hungarian, French..?

Just an idea.

Yea, you are right. That pushed me to start this topic but we have been thinking this earlier too.

Hungarian guys have own forum so that isn't needed either. Maybe bad idea, yep.

I don't think this is needed at all. Would be pretty pointless, and they probably wouldn't be very active either.

Im with SveinR. Those would be used ony for news liek meetings and stuff. They wouldnt be that active and would just make teh forum look to messy...Its so more usefull to post in english forums...

There is a huge underground scene that seriously lacks in an acrossish language forum. We could ban that language then from the normal forums.

dont need, then if all finnish ppl uses finnish forums and swedish ppl use swedish etc... Then other forums liek general can be less active imo...

Could be good idea. If national ones are only used stuff that only concerns that country (like meetings, national records) and not general discussion (like "what is your tt?"). Don't know if there is much use for that though, but could be nice to have other place to disucuss/advertise next danish elma meeting than the national irc channel.

incredibly, Joappen makes a good point. but in response, yes it is unfair than Russians get their own balle when Finns, Hungarians etc also dislike speaking Eng 24/7.

but

russian is different since it has a separate script altogether, much like japanese or arabic. finn bullar romanian barns at least are familiar with 99% of english lettering

Well, since the russian community was rather big outside moposite, and now they don't have a forum anymore, it's great that Abula helped them out with this.

Kopaka's idea attracts me, not from own perspective only, but more from the noob's point of view. There's a lot more under the surface, that we do not see at present. National forums would lower the threshold for people to discuss about elma. Being able to discuss in own language can be useful.

But I suggest that you first start with checking how the russian forum works out, then you might add more language forums.
