Basically because it's not possible (for a normal moporator). And anyway, some threads could be nice to have for archiving.

Yes, all these posts cost a lot of database space I think. I don't see any reason to keep them.

In my opinion spamrobot posts could be deleted but normal user posts can stay in archive for a reason or another. =)
