Yeah but for team TT you play together for the results, so taking those times with you to another team would (kinda) be the same as if a player changes from from one team to another in same league, he would take along the goals he scored and changes those team's goalscores.
Elma is no soccer. And you drive your records by yourself, not together with teammates mostly.. So that's quite reasonable to have your Team Records in your current team you are in. Moreover, who cares about team records which have been driven like that.. I would rather like to see times from all team members for each level beginning by the first position, ending by the last position.. when checking this.

Probably some error when fetching times from old WRs and Records. Maybe you haven't had your team always on the lists? But I'll fix it.

They could always start a new state.dat.

Ok, let's have more debate on the issue.

In my opinion it would be much coaler to "glue" times to teams (and nations, cities, continents etc.) It would give more value for teams. If I quitted FM now, it would be nice to have my old team total in FM tt list "frozen". Then I just have to create a new state.dat and start driving new times for my new team. Don't you think it's stupid that Zweq and John could take the team tt lead in 1min if they wanted?

Also would be nice to have same logic in WRs and in Records.

Later we will make a compare page so by using that you could make the old way records. Just pick up the members of your team and make the list. The compare page would use players personal best times.

I know we have got used to old way but I'm sure we would easily adapt to new and after a while it would feel better. After all the old way was just a technical shortcut because it was so difficult to glue times to teams. Now we are near to better, just need to fix some bugs.

But yes, if many people think the new way sucks, we must undo I guess... :/

I don't think people would be motivated to start on a new state.dat just because of something as simple as a change of teams. If I would quit WNO for some reason (I won't) it would seriously suck to ignore the state I've been working on for 8 years and have to play through all levels again just because I want to hoyl WTH. I would lose all motivation to play for that new team.

Still, I kind of like the idea of gluing times to certain teams and certain locations but don't go the Gestapo way, let the players add this info themselves then.

WRs should be glued on WR-table, no teamchange until the WR is beaten. But in Records I think it's fine if a Team TT could go backwards if some leading player quit the team.
Also would be nice to have same logic in WRs and in Records.
But those tables aren't the same. WR-tables are restored the way they were when the times were driven. Every sunday there's a completely new table with a different number. Records are just one big set of tables that are just refreshed every update. There's a difference.

well this is surely not just about traditions of moposite or the technical workings behind moposite, this is way more about the tradition of teams in a broader sense in the elma history.

i've never before seen a teamsite where they didn't welcome a new member with his respective times? i don't see why we should change this.
but that doesn't mean that if you abula or others think it would be cool from a statistical point of view to do it in this new way that you can't. why not just have both? and the new way will just be a filter on moposite to see times, like the seasonal records?

i do also think that wrs are tied to a specific team is the right way (on the wr table, and wr stats), as it's always been. but that still doesn't mean a wr time won't count to the total time of a team a wr holder moves to in my opinion.

But couldn't people use the compare page for old style team records and total times if they wanted?

John: it's under 1h work to reach WTH. I'm sure you could do that if I you ever changed the team anymore (and don't we have skip tools anyway?). Personally I like the idea of the fresh start in a new team. And all my times would still be on web. And Elma supports state.dat merge if you want to have all your best times in one state.dat.

I meant that from technical aspect it would be nicer to have same logic in WRs and Records because at the moment both data are in same database table. WR is practically just the best time found in the database at some date.

J-sim: "i don't see why we should change this." -> If the new way was better, we should change!

John: have you looked at historical tables? In the new style you can timetravel to 2004 to see how tables were back then. In the old style that wouldn't be possible because players have changed teams etc.

I don't think any table or any WR should be changed after publishing, unless they are cheated or wrong. I think newest table always shows actual team?

Pawq, try "route -f" in command line interface. Using google DNS 8.8.8.8 is not a bad idea too.

I would like to see more debate about the team records issue.

Did you understand my points?
1) Use compare feature for old style records
2) Have correct history
3) Same logic with WRs
4) After a while people would think the new way is better

http://www.moposite.com/downloads_repla ... WR_replays
all recs seem to be there, but:
1) the Table of contents at the top should be in the right bar, shouldn't it? it's empty, so why not. would also look nicer. ez fix I believe
2) "new" recs shouldn't be marked blue anymore I think, over 6 years passed already... ;)
3) since the improvement of this page there is no possibility of downloading all recs from a pack at once. I think some pro could do it in a second, and I think it is obvious that this feature is crucial
4) Elma Done Quick link at the top should direct to EDQ page in Moposite, to direct link for EDQ download, or to the EDQ playlist on youtube, not the search (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08mPl4Z9 ... 657CADF2F9).

Also, when talking about EDQ, 3rd part is blocked, at least for me (poland) :( (copyrights)

thanks for any attention paid :)

Would be cool if TT would be visible on a page like this and if on a players profile would be a tab called 'My Times' which directs you here

sorry if wrong topic

I would like to call attention to Moposite crew and the way they're handling the page: A lot of dead links (Lgrs, Recs...), news not updated (GAA results. And dont tell results and everything is on Lauta). This one is personal but ive sent mail asking for my dat and never got answer. I know my times arent big deal, but i'd like to receive and answer at least.
I want to suggest someone else (one or more ppl) have to take care from now on, someone with energy and active. Honestly i dont have a good connection, time and knowledge to do that.
Maybe you could say: "Come on its just a page" but its Moposite, I remember downloading lgrs, recs, levs, audio files and blabla when i started, and now when you try to dl something, the links is dead.

Just wanted to write this some weeks ago. What do you think?

Four years ago Abula created this topic: http://mopolauta.moposite.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8665

Basically, Moposite is dead and relevant information should be moved to ElmaWiki. Unfortunately ElmaWiki pretty much died almost four years ago also.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

Yes the problem is that someone should do the hard work. I'm also sad because Moposite is almost dead but there is not much I can do for it (limited free time etc). But I have a plan once again:

* Fix some errors with Kopaka (Records, some nick name problems etc. urgent ones)
* Create a new Moposite front page or header to advertise other important Elma sites
* Write a personal Elma history article
* Very maybe: create a better Moposite (API + only the relevant data)

Sup!

The World Cups section on Moposite has missing data about World Cups 2000 and 3, and while old.moposite has the relevant sections, the links there are dead.

Thankfully, thanks to Markku the data is not missing any more:
http://kopasite.net/up/0/WCup_1-5_results.zip

Possible to update the section? I was looking for some stuff today and was a bit surprised Moposite and lauta didn't had the info. I think Moposite would still be a good place to keep this sort of archives.

Cheers!
