Nick meanings

Post by ribot »

This topic is about how you see other peoples nicknames. If you see something funny or weird. No one cares if you think tomator means tomato. But maybe you think of things that are just in your mind that you could share to teh scene?

8-ball - having 8 balls or even 8 balles? Balle means dick in swedish and ass in danish. So deep meaning. Also: who has more balls in the scene than this guy?

Jappe2 - I was always wondreing why he was not just plain Jappe. I thought it was for slesk reasons, just being because of there being no reason to it.

I have told before and it's not very interesting reason. When I was beginner I didn't play for times. Instead I tried to finish the game as many times as I could so each time created new profile with increasing number at the end. Then later when started to play bit more seriously it just so happened that best current TT was second nick I made that ended with 2. Also later when joining IRC my nick was always taken so I just added the 2 there as well instead of usual "_" or such which solidified it as scene back then was very IRC centric, with #battle etc.

SveinR will never be "Svein R", but always some strange "sveynir"

Other than that I think I mostly associate the nicks with the lauta avatar since they're always in close conjunction:

Pawq for instance will always be clone wars yoda
And Lee will always be vegeta
Sveynir will always be FSM
Zworqy will always be Zworqy
etc.

.. But I guess that wasn't really what the thread was about.

Holy shit, I used Yoda as my avatar?! That must've been at least 10 years ago, I have 0 recollection of that :D But I guess I must've used something before Mawane made my current avatar and shirt, and Yoda seems like a probable choice

Have you ever heard of Rubenesque women? They're usually quite voluptuous, and frequent subjects of Peter Paul Rubens' paintings.
