After quick scouting in discord, I decided to organise a chess tournament for us. Everybody will be very welcome no matter of level. I hope for many beginners because I’m a beginner too
. Rules: Game type: 10 min / + 5 sec per move. 1 game a week. 6 rounds. Tournament mode (not necessary to know): Swiss system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament in case of tie median-buchholz system(added 16.11.). Players decide when they play by themselves (pm here or discord). After the game, report the result to the thread. Any kind of cheating / outsider help during a match is obviously strictly forbidden. If a player is not willing to play or organise time for that, it is counted as a loss. In case of no consensus about the game time, it is Sunday GMT 19.
Platform: Lichess (www.lichess.org) Select play against friend and send a link. Check time settings and correct colour (white or black). No accounts needed. (Other platforms fine as well but lichess prolly easiest without account. Pros can use chess.com i they wish
