well, in real there is only one album with Syd Barret playing with Pink Floyd, but I bet it was not his influence that made the music good. Although, roger waters had a great influence in music style. If you hear 'The Wall' you can clearly recognize waters sound. I personally like most albums of Pink Floyd, but that album is crappier then the others. Interstellar Overdrive is 9 mins of music with psychedelic effects and such. You either love it or hate it. :)

"Dark side of the moon" together with "The Wall" has to be their best albums. I've also got "Wish you were here", "Delicate sound of Thunder"
The newer "Division Bell" and their best of, "Echoes".

Mostly I don't like the kind of live-concerts most bands let out but "Delicate Sound of Thunder" makes all the songs ten times better. the sound of the drums, waters song and guitar, that's fucking amazing!

Most valuble cd for me!

They made some ok, like "Cruelty and the beast" and "Midian". Best Album though is "Dusk and her Embrace", only one worth mentioning actually. Maybe the collection found on "Lovecraft and Witchhearts" is ok too, I like the Maiden cover but the rest albums ez suck.

I have to admit that I bought many of the albums just because my first ("Dusk..") was good.
Suckiest part of cradle story is "Bitter suites to succubi", omg that one is such sucky 8O
I was VERY dissapointed when latest "Damnation and a day" came out. Bought that one too but nothing compares with "Dusk.." :!:

I edited all my bongo old posts :X
some newer list

Sodom, Metallica, Manowar, Megadeth, My Dying Bride, Sepultura, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Helloween, Hammerfall, Anthrax, Soilwork, Blind Guardian, Accept, Kiss, Europe, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd, Slipknot, Korn, Rammstein, Incubus, P.O.D., Nickelback, Staind, The Bloodhound Gang, Disturbed, Soulfly, Machine Head, System of a Down, Static-X, Rob Zombie, Papa Roach, Marilyn Manson, Guano Apes, Murderdolls, Kittie, Deftones, Nightwish, Cradle of Filth, Drowning Pool, Tool, In Flames, Skyforger, Pantera, Dream Theater...

Depends on the mood :)

Latvian pagan metal is like max - Skyforger - must have (at least Thunderforge album). Sometimes I feel like listening to some good latvian "fuck it all" rap.

Sometimes it's nothing better than a good ballad like "74-75" by The Connels, "Wind of Change" by Scorpions or whatever there in my playlist..

But Ramms+ein is a whole story itself... I have the Live aus Berlin DVD it is like... hmm "max" is a good word again :D Few songs are really important to me, like Engel, Klavier, Seemann, Du Hast, Asche Zu Asche, Weisses Fleisch, Du Riecht So Gut, etc... I was a big Slipknot fan back then but now it's only now and then with certain moods, but if anyone ever comes to listen to them, pleaaase skip the last album and stick to Iowa and the one before. Nothing better than "Purity"... My later invention is Sodom which I like pretty a lot... bah ok enough i go sleep and maybe update later.

I don't suppose you wanna read my long lists of favourites, but if so ... I like also Fatboy Slim, Limp Bizkit, Manu Chao, Polemic, RHCP, Cranberries and Offspring, and also teh "national" songs of each country ... When you have some good link to your country songs, I would be grateful for it.

Oh, btw, I have one song I am not able to recognize. Wouldn't you help me? I dunno both author and name ...

dudek asked me about latvian pagan music

"kaladu, kaladu" is a regular melody for songs/carols in the latvian pagan celebration of the leaving winter and meeting spring. They all do wierd shit like rolling a log down a hill, masking up and scaring neighbours (not halloween :P) etc.

Most know latvian pagan/folk bands are Skyforger and Ilgi (Iļģi). All Ilgi's and Skyforger's all but the last album are regular folk but Skyforger's last album (Pērkoņkalve (Thunderforge)) is heavy pagan metal.

a quote from Woman of Serpents (Čūsku Sieviete) by Skyforger:
"Strike, strike thunder with nine thunderbolts, burn the church down with blue flames; Waste, shrink the foreign rule; Fall like a autumn's leave from a tree!"

("Sper, sper, pērkoni deviņiem zibeņiem, sadedz baznīca ziliem uguņiem; Nīksti, dilsti sveÅ¡ā vara; Krīti kā rudens lapa no zara!")

Small introduction ^_^
