Did you ever really really want to see someone you didn't see in years, somehow hoping that everything would be just as it was back then, but knowing perfectly that it would only get your heart broken?

I've thought a lot, all the time, about my first love, lately. I didn't see her in about seven years, yet I still remember her as if I'd seen her yesterday. I still remember her phone number even though I didn't hear her voice since 2002, I know where she lives, she hasn't moved, but... I also know she now has schizophrenia, and that she is a completely different person, both mentally and physically. Almost no one has seen her in five years, and the very rare who did say she's very sick. While I would really want to see her, I know how much it would hurt me. I am clueless about what could be done.

I guess an important factor is wether she wants to see you again, especially if she is in some mentally unstable situation. So you should think foremost about how it would affect her, if you came to see her. You don't mention anything about how you ended things, so hard to say if she would want to see you ect. I for one would never say no to reuinte with an old friend, but no idea when it comes to girl/boyfriend as I don't exactly have a lot of experience there
