hmm, i decided that talking about this matter ("firefox is good enough") is stupid enough to change it. i'll download both Opera and Chrome today and I'll see if they appeal to me :)

using Chrome for like 10 minutes
differences to Firefox I've already noticed:

+tighter top bar -> can see "Non-Elma related discussion" on lauta homepage without scrolling down with normal zoom. This is a great advantage as now I can use lauta with 100% zoom and I see all the tables, smileys and userbars sharply :)
+when entering text in the address bar at the top it gives suggestions as firefox, but puts them instantly to the address bar which saves clicking down arrows, also when entering something unseen before, the first suggestion is the google search of a phrase.
+currently used window is highlighted (yellow bar), might take away some unnecessary mouse clicks, but small advantage
+as far as I've noticed - when pressing ctrl+(shift+)left/right it omits all the nonletter characters such as comas and dots, small advantage too though
+nice new-tab window

-there is no (or at least I didn't find it) "search when typing" function, gotta press ctrl+f each time :( pretty big disadvantage
-no adblocker :( if there is one somebody please tell me:)

pretty tight battle so far, I'll try Opera after a few days maybe :)

also how to search in other searchers than the default one? :(

extensions :P
gmail - lil icon showing when there are new emails in your inbox = no need to check it
wiki - lil icon that after a click turns to a regular wiki, just without all the bars, pure articles, being like 10% of the screen size :)
utube - just searcher, like in firefox
google maps - same as wiki, a lil icon that after click turns into a small google maps window, without all unnecessary bars, only map :)

because it's easier (and faster) to reopen one crashed tab instead of reopening the whole browser with 20+ tabs. at least for me.

chrome had like the best features i think...
- fastest browser
- biggest content area, where the status bar only shows when needed, tabs on the top bar
- can do private surfing without closing other browser windows, unlike firefox
though the most stupid thing ever was to turn on translation automatically!

but... firefox has a lot more extensions.... though i only use downthemall and save youtube vids... but the reason i use firefox is because it's more popular and more important for a web designer...

and opera... pfft

and one more thing..search fields? come on...it's much better to have a keyword in address bar... like g searches google and w wikipedia...but that works in all browsers i tihnk

no known advantages? O,o,0 what does that even mean

let me quote
ok some things that suck about firefox
it is slower than opera, it renders html wrong sometimes, it takes a shitload of memory, it has few features and little customizability, the password rememberer is annyoing (when i save my pasword on a site it auto saves paswords on the same site where form fields have the same names, so for exampel in my site i saved paswrod with ff, and later tryed to change acc setings, and ff ofc "rememberd" passworfd there too, and thats fine but wehn i try to erase the pasword it automaticaly re remembers it as if i didnt mean to erase it), it puts dotted rectangles around every link you clikc even if its an image wich looks ugly, it hasnt any scripting posibilities, you cant paste a file path in the upload form fields and you cant edit source code and update the page with it in real time like in opera
i coud mention more but its obviously not even needed

opera has the best feature for speeding up slow conections its caled opera turbo

Haven't read the whole topic but I think chrome wins, especially in speed. But the upcoming new IE9 is a good competitor I think, still chrome will hold my vote because of its simpleness and clean interface. I used firefox earlier and it's definately better than IE versions imo.

Used to be an avid Firefox fan, but now recently I've had to get accustomed to Chrome. Why? Firefox started to become really laggy and slow etc, the things I chose Firefox in the first place to get rid of.

p.s. yes, i tried opera once and didn't like it. but it's only my opinion.

Reasons why i love Firefox:
  • Cute icon/theme
  • Open source/Free software
  • CTRL + AvPag/RePag to change tabs
  • Plug-ins!
Reasons why i hate Firefox:
  • Takes to much to load when i open it
  • Consumes too much RAM
Why i love Opera:
  • Fast
  • CTRL + Click on image to download
Why i hate Opera:
  • Proprietary software
  • It CRASHES sometimes, specially when i lose my connection
I haven't tried Chrome yet (not in my computer). I don't like it...

There is a funny navigator called Lunascape, you can change between 3 engines so you can pick the one that works better for each site :D Interesting feature, useful, but i found it too slow.

Tried firefox, couldn't use for more than 10 mins. Some reasons:

Tabs in a total pawq-recnaming-random-place (nat in the top bar)
Tabs do nat work when trying to close multiple ones at once (the x-button moves so have to move mouse if whange close more) and some other little things about it.
Slow o,o
Looks terrible.

you can install some firefox 2 theme/tabmix plus or set it somewhere in options, to have the "X" button only on right side, not on each tab, because i had it like that for ages.

but of course, ff is slow :X

Just installed Firefox 4, there are of course some things to get used to, but it still seems amazing. At least you can't bitch about the speed anymore, that's for sure 8O 8)

Firefox 4 is such a fucked up shit. Eats up all memory, lags like hell, freezes all the time, the newer version the worse it is... I'm done with Firefox for good.

Opera from now on. :)

Gonna test opera in near future too, firefox simply sax for the reasons Madness told and Chrome is simply slow any time you start doing something, no matter if it was on already or not, which had not happened before. Here we come, Opera..

I don't give a shit about what I use anymore. Using several different computers that are not mine, I can't be picky. Firefox, Opera and Chrome all function well for me, so I have no problem using any of them.

FORK!!!!
then again i don't know anything
maybe easier not to think abouut alöl things thought than not things thought ... or something..=?

Chrome is like Elma 1.0. And eats up the same amount of memory as Firefox. Who in his right mind would use it..
