Nat, the new firefox sucks since it's so impost of Chrome so I have old FF :D

Edit 1: Ohh FF 5.0, I thought you meant 4.0 but I go try 5.0 and see if I change my opinion.

Edit 2: ok you're right its mega nice =)

At work I use firefox since it's the only one of IE chrome and FF which can bypass our proxy filter.
But firefox creates huge files several hundred megs in your profile under documents and settings, that I see as a bad thing. I think it has something to do with updating a list of bad sites from a database at Firefox's.

Anyway I just updated to version 5 from 4, so far I don't see any differences.

Such lame this versioning scheme ff has started, going from 4 to 5 instead of going from 4 to 4.1, since there's no real big changes. In small protest of that I'm waiting a bit with updating so first day/week downloads gets smaller ;)
Hosp wrote:Nat, the new firefox sucks since it's so impost of Chrome so I have old FF :D
If you mean visually, you can change it to look just like 3.x, I agree the default look of 4 is just plain gay.

I love the looks of Chrome, as simple and smooth as possible (almost nothing there to "look" too, which I also consider a big advantage, a browser is to browse the internet, not to be looked at).

By the way, if someone has updated to Opera 11.50 and wants to get back the dropdown button in the address bar, do the following:

Enter opera:config
Search for 'addressfield'
Tick the box saying 'Show Dropdown Button In Addressfield'

I can't for the life of me imagine anyone not wanting this button, so God knows why they have removed it as default. I hear it is not included in Chrome either.
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

Correct, missing by default in chrome. I don't need one because of typing speed anyway, so it doesn't affect me.

And users of the more obscure Camino and Opera browsers, as well as those using Explorer with Chrome Frame (a plug-in designed to let users view emerging HTML5 content), had what AptiQuaint called "exceptionally higher" IQ levels.
Users of Opera, the Norway-based browser, scored the highest at well over 120.

Few things that are seriously bugging me in Opera:

· Whenever I save settings, Opera adds this "blocked content" panel to every open tab I have. Fuck you!
· Opera does not show <title> in the status bar. It is very painful. Especially when I'm reading forums I tend to open several topics on different tabs and then start reading. In every forum the topic name is not displayed within each post (the subject of the message: Re: Best Browser? [Poll reset with new options 2010/01/22]). It just is too much to hover the tab to see what a fucking topic I am reading. Seriously, bring back the <title> to somewhere where it can be seen all the time within a blink of an eye. I have some shit user js enabled but it is nab and doesn't work all the time.

Never seen a title in Status Bar, but you could try to click on Menu Button in the top left corner of screen and check Show Menu Bar, then you will see it there.

This seems totally legit to me, considering you can detach a tab at any time to make a standalone browser window out of it. This is not a design flaw, this is THE design. One tab == one process, so One tab == One URL field.

Best thing ever is the FF url bar search. I literally never google anything these days per se, instead I just type whatever into the URL bar. If I'm lucky it takes me to what I'm looking for on an appropriate site (wiki for facts, youtube for videos etc), and if I'm not, it redirects to the googled query. The I'm lucky thing works pretty much flawlessly though, even when entering the most random words and sentences into the url bar.

I don't remember how I fixed this though. When doing this in a fresh installation of FF it always redirects to the googled query automatically. I think my FF might be magical.

Well that's a feature that Chrome's had since release, so i'll presume FF5 added it as part of the new package in response to that incredibly wonderful feature.
