Do you have an mp3 player?

I have an iAudio 4, 256 MB. It's fucking great, the sound is just as good as with a CD Walkman, maybe even better. And it has many functions and settings.

MP3 players under 1GB space I consider rubbish. What the fuck you're supposed to do at a two weeks vacation when you have only 20 tracks with you?

When I'll buy an MP3 player for myself it'll be no less than 10GB, minimum.
At the moment I have Minidisc but it's so complicated after all compared to an MP3 player that it's gotten annoying. I'll have to wait some longer for prizes to go down.

No, I do not have an mp3 player. In April I had the choice of buying a new CD Walkman or an mp3 player. I went for the CD Player. Why? Well, there is this certain charm of actually inserting a physical, original, product into the player, also I like to use CDs. On top of that, it was also much cheaper. IF I would buy an mp3 player, it would have to be one with space for 40GB. This is because then I would use the mp3 player instead of a CD Walkman, and therefore needing the space to transfer all my CDs, with good quality (VBR ~200kbps), into it, and 20GB would have been too little.

A few years ago I bought a freecom mp3 player with 8cm cds 210MB capacity. Not using it that much anymore, only when going on holiday or something. Got some 8cm RWs so ez change music.
Not really need a new small mp3 player right now, still too expensive for such little space you get. But those Creative ZEN players look nice, but sach expensive :F

I wonder, it sounds familiar to me that I write about my mp3 player.
Anyway: Yes, I have a mp3 player. It's the creative zen xtra, and it has 30gb, which is still not enough, but I could store most of my music on it.

It looks very ugly, and it's huge really, but it does it's job; play music.

256 MB = about 65 songs.

Well, it has several sound enhancing features including an equalizer. I haven't seen that in a CD walkman.

There are CD Walkmans that have that. And you still can't get around the fact that the music stored on a CD is of higher quality than that in an mp3 file.

That doesn't mean the sound playing software is better. And can you seriously say you can hear any quality difference between mp3 and CD?

I doubt a 256MB mp3 player has better sound quality than a high-end CD Walkman. But that's just me.
zworqy wrote:And can you seriously say you can hear any quality difference between mp3 and CD?
Depends on the bitrate..

If it isn't some lousy 16kbs recorded from radio then the difference ain't that noticable, isn't it?

The storage capacity of the mp3 player has nothing with it's sound quality to do, ffs!

Well, it's a classic to discuss about quality between CD and MP3.

It depends on bitrate, hardware, music itself ofcourse too.
Usually my music is encoded in a variable bitrate, that makes some difference at least. And all other music is mostly in 192kbps when it's not in Vbr.

the zen micro is cute but i want more storage and colorscreen without the player getting bigger. i'm probably going to wait another year before i buy one, or maybe by then i will want to wait even longer for something new and exciting that might come in 2 years. buying technology stuff is just a pain in the ass. i wonder when i can decide what tv to buy, been without tv in 2 months now 8O

I've got a BEAUTIFUL silver-colored CASSETTE PLAYER and I'm proud of it!! :D Btw, I'm not old-fashioned. All those people downloading songs for free from the internet.... I guess you all do. Just buy the cd, you cannot lose it if your computer crashes :)
