this is kinda complicated if ya use more than one.. i mean, pritty much every win user use IE, imo this should be a vote which doesn't include IE/NS :)

I use Opera, but for pages that's not accessible or just looks wierd, I use IE. Anyway, I like Opera way more. Just trying to avoid M$ programs as good as I can. :)

Hm, I never tried firefox seriously, until we got it in school for red hat. But the functions/layout/etc don't seem to fit to me. It's always better than IE though.

Before using Firefox, I was using TheWorld Browser.
It is a nice browser. Small in size but is simple to use, have good and easy management in Tab Browsing.

hmmp I have to re-answer my own poll. I use firefox now only on windows and gnome-based linux like ubuntu. Recently I tried kubuntu which just replaces gnome with kde and it has konqueror as the default browser so I might be trying that more in future..

I yesterday came to the discovery that a new opera is out, already version 8.
It's once again more of better. But I dislike the skin. I stick with my Opera Standard for 7.5 V2 skin.
One big pro is that there are X's at every tab. And the possibility to reopen your accidentally closed pages.

It may be slow yes, if you don't use the function which keeps the core process active once you open it the first time. After that, new firefox window opens very smoothly.

I've been using firefox, and to some extent opera, for a long time now. I'm very pleased with both.

One of the best features of firefox, appart from all the things the extensions can give you, is this:

this is just an exemple (i'll use google):
go to any page with a search box and right-click in that page search box... choose “Add a Keyword to this Search”.

A window much similar to the “Add Bookmark” window will appear with two text fields and one drop down menu.

Select a nice description to describe this, simply “google” will be sufficient as this is the general search field. Add a “g” to the keyword field.

This will allow you to >g “search terms here”< into your URL bar and render results from google as if you had searched directly from google.com

Tada, you're done.

This work on imdb, thepiratebay, last.fm, ect any page with a search engine.

I've known this trick since the begining, but i think quite alot of you maybe don't know this.

By the way, I would urge everyone who uses Opera to do Tools - Quick preferences - Identify as Opera.

By default it is Identify as Internet Explorer, and many sites will then read it as you're using Internet Explorer and not Opera, meaning Opera will get a lower usage percentage than what it should have.

Actually it should be activated by default. I can't seem to find an option for it so it might even be always on.

Yes, what svein says is quite relevant. I never really understood the idea behind it to identify as another browser. Maybe to get access to sites [microsoft's ones have been rumoured to have done that once] which refer you to a dead end when using another type of browser?

There are some sites.. For instance, this web-tv part of a Norwegian commercial television station claimed you had to use Internet Explorer to be able to view it. So first, I tried Opera with Identify as Opera. Didn't work. Then I tried Opera with identify as Internet Explorer. Worked.
