Emulators & Roms

Post by dz »

hey guys!
i know many of you still remember times when there was only nintendo/super nintendo, and it was pritty much only tool for gaming, and hell yea some of you played alot.. well, i did pritty much.
as years passed, we became older, consoles got better, and many of us think new stuff are NOTHING compared to feeling which old games, with unique old graphics and sounds was. personally i mainly play only games i used to play long time ago, like 10-15 years ago.. i can't describe the feeling to pass games which i couldn't pass back then.. it's awesome.

Are there any ppl who still plays frequently old nes/snes/whatever games with emulators, or maybe with real consoles?
if yes, what games did you play recently? which one's are "the best ones"?

most recent game i passed was ninja gaiden 1, very nice game.

i had the mega driv0r. remember how much i loved to play, and how excited i would get before trying a new game. then i stopped playing cos my friends didn't like that and computer stuff. a few years later i started to hang out more with my current friends, and we play quite much. i can always feel i missed a few years of gaming. but nowadays games are boring, even with super grafix and stuff they don't interest me. elma is boring too, at least höyling, but i love the feeling in it. grr i didn't get to my culmination points but whatever :]

I have almost all the NES games on my computer,I experience them every now and then. Also I'm planning to pass R.C. Pro AM on nintendo soon. I played it quite much back at n-8bit times. What I just heard I was stuck on the last level of the game :< It is 32.

And then there is this NHL94. Played it today, yesterday, before that, not before that, before that and so on. We play it online and it works perfectly. We have an own irc-channel for it and own leagues. The current league is at http://zaux.daug.net/anari/nhl94 and here are our maraton standings http://koti.mbnet.fi/~swos/nhl94/maraton.htm I use a nick Uille there and so on.

Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?

ey, anyone played Chrono Trigger on snes? I'm sure some of you has. well, it's awesome, of course, BUT, have you played its "sequel" Chrono Cross" on psx? I heard it has quite a few bad elements like slow stamina based battles, numerous of different playable charecters and it's actually not at all related to original crotigger.. anyone here has experience on chrono cross?

yeah zsnes is sweetest of ones which are available. snes9x is nice too, but not close as good as zsnes on features.

maybe you have pressed some key which does some sound option?
if i remember correctly, numbers (0-9) changes something..
check the misc settings, there should be explained which key does what

hope it'll get fixed

and btw, after finishing ff9, i somehow started missing extremely much ff7, and decided to play it thru again. its been a while since i did it last time, it was around the times when it came to europe, i had reserved it long b4 it actually came, just to be sure i'd get it..

I finished Super Mario 3 and Rollergames last week, two of the best NES games ever! I'm using Nesticle emulator, but I've heard NEStron is better... Wonder what game I will play next...?

Anyone here plays N64 on computer? Is it fun? What size is a game and emulator etc?

nestickle was great - but kinda sucky compared to up-to-date nes emulators. Im using either FCE Ultra or NnnesterJ depending on game, two of the best emulators in my opinion.

yeh n64 emus are quite advanced as well, haven't really played other games than mario64 but at least that looks and works very good. Don't know which is best emu available, I have some "old" called Project64.
the few games i have seems to vary from 8 to 32 MB as size.

check out http://www.zophar.net for some emu stuff. :)
