Post by Crazy »

As I like hardrock and such this is like Christmas. Maybe some of you are aware of that the Metalband Lordi from Finland has made it to the "semifinals" of the Eurovision Songcontest.

The 18th of May they will compete for a place in the final!
Please visit this page for some more info And send this link to friends, non-friends, neighbours..
Here is their video

Please help the world and the ESC by voting for Lordi :)

That votelordi.org site says that the ESC sucks. Which it doesn't. So please don't support it :/

ACtually I do agree with what is said on the votilordi.org site. But that's my opinion of course. In Sweden people are so afraid of everything wich is not as it has always been. Conservative. The music played on the radio today isn't the same as it was back in the 1960s. YEt it's the same old songs that goes to the ESC every year. This is not only about Sweden but for most contries. I've not supported the ESC since I don't know when, but now and then there is this band who is not afraid of being different. I REALLY appriciate that. As those Russian Girls some year ago. It's not hardrock but they're different, I like that.

And Kopaka, it's not about supporting a site and their opinion, but to support a band who dares to be different (and imo has a great song)..
Still I have to respect what you think, but don't think that I want to ruin the ESC, I want to support Lordi!

As the saying goes in Sweden: "The taste is like the butt, split in 2"

haha if songcontest doesn't suck i'm an elephant.

now to be serious: in my opinion this event is just ridiculous. the artists (except for some, as already written) are usually performing really low quality, often even playback, music. furthermore there are heaps of casting bands founded especially for the songcontest. i really abhor those because it's just unnatural to take some people (mostly goodlooking - who wants to see ugly guys in tv?), put them together in a band and let them perform music which has been made by somebody else. this is where my hate against most kinds of pop music comes from. i could never seriously listen to such shallow sound as e.g. backstreet boys, britney spears or robbie williams (he can tell he writes his songs another million times - no one will believe him) played on commercial radios. but hey, i'm drifting apart. unluckily (or luckily?) most people don't think like me and don't ever cultivate proper music taste. so all in all i agree with Crazy that "outsiders" are very welcome in this conservative meeting of blockheads.

I agree.. it's kinda pop-rock-eurodisco song (:
Still people across Europe who usually don't listen to hardrock had a chance to do that yesterday.. and they actually liked it O:

this has only been good for teh ESC.
Next ESC will 100% have new genre's...Rock/Rap/RnB/Metal etc... Instead of these boring pop/techno songs.

Wanna hear GOOD songs.. not SUCKY songs :?

No they didnt, their primary mission was to recruit votes for Lordi and to piss of the ESC fans. They never thought this would kill ESC, although dariuz stated that that would happen several times.
