Here's my Desktop:
http://bensonby.no-ip.org/files/desktop.jpg
-- if the above link doesn't work, i.e. my server is shut down, i.e. i have gone to sleep, use this link:
http://benson.host.sk/desktop.jpg

(windows in chinese~ as i'm from HK, yet for other programs, i prefer english than chinese, the only exception is windows :P)
next time if i remember, i may post my desktop for linux (though they are similar ;P)

this is what my desktop normally looks like when i have nothing to do with my computer besides listening to songs (perhaps i am reading books, doing homework, or other stuffs.)
Hoping Elma can spread in Hong Kong... but... nearly impossible

I don't get how peolpe can survive with such empty desktops. It's so much easier with like every folder on the desktop, instead of every folder in another folder. Well, I guess it's all about tase.

Well, I reach My Computer and My documents with two clicks, instead of one double-click, which I have no problem with. I think a few icons are acceptable (as John's desktop above), but not a lot of them.

But as you said, it's all about taste.

I reach my documents with one click. I hate doubleclick. :?

But that, I guess, is also only a matter of taste.

I like to enjoy a clean desktop wallpaper. All the things I need to access is just a click or two away at the menu.

a clean desktop wallpaper gives me a good comfortable feeling. I used to be having a messy desktop (with all sorts of files on it) and eventually I am messed by myself, it's too messy and unorganized.

My desktop is a map of the world, where you see where there's sunlight and where there isn't: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/desktop.JPG
It gets updated every 10 minutes, and I can also have clouds (updated every 3 hours) based on satellite photos: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/desktop_clouds.JPG
Or have it be a globe: http://www.home.no/sveinrune/desktop_globe.JPG

I've always wanted such a desktop, and finally found it a month ago \o/
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

Ookay this is my old comp. It's pretty much as messy as my car. My room is usually in the same condition too but at the moment it's pretty clean =/

And here comes the desktop of my new laptop. I have even made some attempts to keep it clean.
