Australia really deserved at least a point against Brazil, let alone a goal. But hopefully they'll make it through to round 2 anyway.

Another team I feel bad for is Togo, who, at least in the first half, was the far better team against Switzerland, and 0-2 was not a fair result at all. But it's getting goals that matters, of course..

Togo was just not good enough, svein. Remember, it's just about those 90 minutes, not a half or a third of it.

I don't feel bad for France at all.

i`ve been to frankfurt yesterday to watch ARG - NL on the big screens on the river. i gotta say that my eyes still hurt from all the "oranjes" who were there. it was like 10:1 holland fans against argentinians but the argentinians were a lot louder and partying and jumping around. it was max funny because i was with some friends from argentinia and they taught me some very nice songs...

Last 20 minutes of Croatia - Australia was simply amazing 8O (was the only part I saw). 3 red cards those last 20 mins. After Australia scored to 2-2 Croatia went crazey ;).

Really happy to see Australia go through to round 2. Also it was a very nice feeling that Ronaldo scored two goals against Japan and really showed the critics. I think he may have a chance of getting the Golden Boot again..

What was so bad? If you claim he was anti-swedish, well, he gave you a penalty in the 2nd half.

The referee was not really biased in the swe - de match. Only bad thing was the red card after one of these polish germans begged for it. Sure, it was worth a yellow card, but if the other team's going to beg for one you should leave it unpunished.

Didn't see the 2nnd half. However, I was referring to the red card. Teddy Lucic got two yellow cards. I think the first one was deserved, but the other one wasn't. He did his last game for Sweden today and I feel sorry for him. Not the way he wanted to end his carrear.

It was obvious that the referee found it very funny to send Lucic off the pitch. Did you see the look on his face? He was smirking! At least here in Sweden, the referee is well known for favouring the greater teams. And yes, I heard this before the match of course.

Then again, didn't see the 2nd half. Maybe he was more fair later on, but I can't tell.

Anyway, I admit that "worst referee ever" was/is an exaggeration.

Well yeah, that wasn't a very nice gesture. However, we as viewers don't know what that came from, and it could be that it was natural in the situation/conversation between the two.

What a match between Portugal and the Netherlands today!

16 yellow cards, 4 red cards... 12 different players got cards.

Easily the most exciting, dirtiest and amazing match of this World Cup =)

And my favorites Portugal won, hopefully Boulahrouz didn't injure C. Ronaldo so much that he can't make the quarter final match against England.

Amazing that a match with 25 fouls had almost a card-per-foul... I didn't see a violent game but I suppose the referee did... he clearly wanted to be man of the match, almost ruined the match entirely. Deco's expulsion was a bit exaggerated - though FIFA's instructions for this World Cup is zero tolerance with time wasting - but Gio's was just ridiculous. Glad we won :D

I didn't found Portugal as overwhelming though. They merely won, in my opinion. I found the match horrible, it was my own country against another country and it just seemed to me as war. I reckon it would had been funny for me if the netherlands were another country.

Oh well, sob sob. :(

maybe figo can play in a movie or something, he is a great actor. same for almost all of the portugese players. they destroy football....

I was very mad yesterday, the ref had no idea what he was doing. figo had to be send off beceause he gave van bommel a knock with his head.

i hope portugal will lose the next game!!!!

As if Holland was any better? If you ask me, they were the ones who started it all, and that before it had been 8 mins. Two hard tackles on Ronaldo, the last one being very ugly, maybe the ugliest tackle in the whole world cup. It seemed like Boolahrouz was intentionally trying to get rid of Ronaldo for the rest of the match (perhaps the rest of the World Cup, as it turns out). Boolahrouz should've been given a direct red card for that tackle, and if he had, the game probably wouldn't have turned out as ugly as it did.

But it wasn't until the 2nd half the real mess started, of course, and again, the Dutch were a big part of it. They did not follow fair play. Deco and Portugal had a good chance at getting another goal oppurtunity, but had to abort the attack because there were two players down (all the way down on Portugal's 16m so I don't really know why the referee stopped the attack). Here the Dutch players should just have given the ball back to the Portuguese afterwards, like it has been done by any other teams in all similar situations this world cup. Instead, they started their own attack

Now, I'm not saying Portugal are not to blame either, because they very much are. But you can not say this is primarily their fault. Funny you say how the Portuguese were great "actors" btw, since the Dutch were just as easy to fall as they were.

Hmm. All the cards were justified, in my opinion. If anything, the referee should have been stricter, i.e. starting giving out direct red cards. There were a number of situations where this would have been justifiable, on both teams (starting with Boolahrouz' tackle on Ronaldo).

And all the red cards that were given out were also fine in my book.

The referee is not the one to primarily blame here in any case, the players are.

I don't blame Portugal for the monkey donkey match. Boelahrouz certainly deserved a red card indeed for his smash. As for the rest of the game, it was all monkey's business. I found it very much like a zoo or something.

yes, it was a entertaining zoo, but still it wwasnt the players fault. sure, it was a very aggressive match, but 16 cards, atleast 10 out of these were dives, from both teams. i think thats the only point that destroys the game, these fucki9ng dives  everybody that has played the game knows u cant change the fact that diving is a part of it.

hopp schwiiz!

edit. so unfair...
it wasnt even a penalty...disapointing
