Sad news yeh :(
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?

very sad time for australians. he was one of our biggest icons.

of all the scary animals he encounted....a stingray.

before his death, only two people had been killed by a stingray in australia.

It is sad, but how can we australians cheer up?

By making a joke:

Why should Steve Irwin wear sunscreen?

To protect him from the rays

But away from the loony bin now, seriously- R.I.P. It was a shock to me, I was at school when I heard it. I even met Bindi once, so it sorta DOES make me sad.

Seemed like a fucking cool guy, yeah. I never really watched his show too much but I was aware of it, and of course all the pop culture and parodies that it spawned. He put all the profits from it back into conservation too, which is very admirable in this age of cut-throat entrepreneurial greed. In some ways it's a shame he died, in other ways it's a testament to his unyielding drive and courage. Respect!
