Mark Allen played absolutely brilliantly though, and it's not as though O'Sullivan played badly either. A great match, really. Just a bit of a shame that one of them had to be eliminated.

How come so many people like snooker here? :X If I tell you my opinion on the sport I will most likely get jumped upon and beat to death by the majority in this thread.

Not too many games I have to admit, but that's because I found it too boring every time.

I watched billiard two times and I was HELL amazed by the skill. I play it and at some games I pocket like 30% of my shots, some others I pocket 70% of 'em. That's quite bad, I know, but compared to them who pocket like 95% of their shots, it's awesomely awesome. The guy who pocketed all 15 balls in 1:02 with a perfect run (which granted him a -10 sec bonus, which gave him 0:52) at the speed pool competition was astonishing. Plus he had to pocket all "full" balls from 1-7 (or striped balls from 9-15) then the other set of balls, then the 8. I mean, he was flawless.

the snooker masters could pot at 99% rate if they didnt have to care about the control of the cueball. but of course if they didnt control the white, breaks wouldn't last at all. very often the players fail the potting just because of having to do insane back/top&sidespin on the white, i dont know the english correct terminology for it, sorry. just saying potting is only one part of the game, pay attention to the control of the white. that same applies to all billiard games of course.

Yeah, I know, I also try to control the white ball as much as I can and this leads to missed shots, but still, I mean, they are awesome to be able to be so precise and (in the "speed pool competition") fast!

I caught the replay of that. Great stuff.

Robertson v Maguire was a great match, I was behind Robertson all the way. Still am against Murphy...even though Murphy has been amazing since the start. Higgins has been surprisingly good too, not sure where that came from. He wasnt playing to this standard last year. Shame Selby went out, I thought he might take it after Ronnie lost.

yeah ronnie has been great, I can't remember him playing this well any time in the last 6 years. I mean sure he could bang a 147 out of nowhere anytime, but then miss easy balls in the next frames. I'm talking about his consistensy in this year's tournament.

Before it started Judd Trump and Ronnie were my favorites for title. Looks like I was wrong about Trump, but so far I'm right about Ronnie. From what I read Ronnie can quit snooker after this match. But he said that before 2011 UK Champ, so I'm not sure he is serious this time either.

Right man won, although I would have loved to see a final where neither player hadn't any previous wc victories. It's always great to see someone win his first title.

Maybe my memory is just bad but wasn't this final very high quality? Compared to previous years? The only thing that was a bit off was carter's breakbuilding.

I'm not sure. It was high quality because Ronnie was dominating

Alright, it's that time of the year again and Ronnie is back from his sabbatical. Haven't watched much yet, but Carter vs. O'Sullivan going on right now.

watched a lot (obv), very weird tournament so far. It looks like Ding's gonna have a great chance of winning this year. Ronnie or Judd vs Ding in the final would be a fucking classic and there would be ridiculous amount of viewers on such a match. But if Carter can overcome Ronnie, who knows how far he can get.

Then again nothing surprises me anymore, anyone can win this shit.

Walden and Ronnie in final? Hawkings is unable to build breaks, he seem to be very stressed. Yesterday Ronnie had one very bad game when he received a warning. I thought his past issues are back, but no, he came back relaxed, like nothing happened at all and scored very high break!
