IMDB votelists

Post by John » 25 May 2008, 17:28

Hey, I created a new topic where I want you to give URLs to your IMDB votelists. This way we can compare ratings, make fun of those who put 8/10 on Crossroads and just generally discuss the movies we've seen. Also this is a great way to get a few extra movies to your own list, since we all probably have forgotten about some movies from few years back.

My movies
I've seen more movies than that but I havent voted for all Bond-movies for example since I can't tell which is which.

Now please give yours :*

IMDb:

Kopaka (stats)

First of all it was 8-ball who gave it a 1/10 :) second of all it was nat that great movie really. (I put an average 5/10)
If u want a good movie about 9/11 i suggest u watch this documentary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312318/ Its a documentary by 2 french brothers and filmmakers following a rookie firefighter in New York until one day when they get swept into the real deal ;x filmed from inside one of the collapsing towers and shit. Seen it x amount of times, prolly 3-5 times.

Some quite unusual ratings there. Did u seriously put 10/10 on Crossroads or did u do it just becuz of my first post here? :)

One nice way to keep this topic going (nat the most interesting topic, I know) would be if once u update ur votelist with a new movie, write it down here. The movie, ur rating, and some short comment on how u were thinking when u put that rating, semilong reviews would be appreciated too.

I voted it that years ago. Many of my earlier votes I would most likely vote lower if voting them today, though probably not Crossroads <3

I also have a listsofbests list of my favorite movies http://www.listsofbests.com/list/27397 aswell as my own movie site http://sshoyer.net/movies/

i really don't get it how you can rate '300' the same as, well, let's not say 'citizen kane', but 'the labyrinth of the faun'. and give 'o brother where art thou' another chance, it's definitely worth it:)
all in all, i gave up watching movies few years ago, unfortunately, but this list makes me wanna start again.

Survive Style propably the overall best movie I ever saw.

noni: ye my list kinda sucks, often votet directly after the movie, soon changed mind, but didnt change vote. I was impressed by the action sequences of 300 so I gave it a 10 in the beginning. I am one of those guys who might say "great movie" even if story obviously sucks.

I duno but to me, movies are like 50/50 - story/visuals (different from movie to movie)... I think 300 was freakin sweet to see in the theatres, sach nice style in every scene. Well ye story wasnt max, but if u want a good story u might aswell pick up and read a good book

Fido - 5/10

Downloaded the movie on random about a month ago, watched it tonight. It was a decent one-time-watch but I wouldnt really recommend it. Trinity was in it tho :*

did this quite recently and it's probably missing more than three quarters of the movies i have seen. most of the votes have also been based on my feelings/age at the time when seeing that movie.

my 600th movie... watched Hitman last nite but gave it only an average 5/10. quite coal action but nat very good acting by some. Casting Olyphant as Agent 47 was a good move imo.

Would have been a lot coaler if they had made some cartoonish version. Kinda like film noir/anime combined, lot of black, white and red. Good voiceactors doesnt grow on trees tho

Just watched Flood (2007), was sach predictable and stupid that i only gave it 3/10. It had some entertainmentvalue from time to time tho and some of the CGI of water flooding into the city was quite coal, some shots it sucked too.

i saw Kung Fu Panda last night. A very simple storyline, but it was still quite good - just a fun movie with quite a few laughs. Jack Black fit the character well. 7.5/10

i also saw the previews for WALL-E last night for the first time, i had never heard of it, and by the previews it didn't seem very funny for a typical animated Pixar film. On IMDB though, people have been giving it great reviews, and it's currently sitting 6th on the Top 250, but I'm sure that it will go down in time. Has anyone seen it?

aa god, havn't seen but i do hate when movies begin awesomely, but end like crap. like 'the day after tomorrow' i think, first half was awesome, but then like second half just lame and boring.

whats wrong with the ending? we get to see how everyone's story ties together "Crash-style" (hoho)...

spoilers about ending
meeting of these people in one point is simply unreal (2 or 3 storylines has no any logic)
driver drove emergency car perfect in traffic but when he see a little girl (it's the most logicless storyline) who he can easily pass, or kill (as he kill much more children at the square), or doing something else but not this crazy drift.
but it will be normal happy end in any other film but this. with this ending films turn into propaganda of democratic USA government which can unleash the war with such terroristic regimes as in Afganistan, Iraq (what a lie). Such ending state that USA system is strong and they can do whatever they want. Such ending justify their international politics as in questions of past (long list of countries where intrvention of seeding-the-democracy-USA comes into wars, civil wars, revolutions and so on) as in questions of present and future.

I can't take such rough propagandistic lying end which devalvates the whole film.
