Favourite Quotes

Post by bob »

what are some of your favourite quotes from movies, books and songs? inspirational ones about life?

please try to avoid super long ones, such as lyrics for a whole song.

here some of mine:

"Just like that plane you are late for leaving without you
And now it changes all you plans and puts you in a bad mood
And that plane ends up crashing but at the time man you would not have a clue
That being late could be so good and life is strange and this true"
- John Butler Trio - Life Aint What it Seems

"There's no such thing as destiny. There are only different choices. Some choices are easy, some aren't. Those are the really important ones, the ones that define us as people."
- The Number 23

"Imagine all the people
Living life in peace... "
- John Lennon - Imagine

"If you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, then go home and burn all your records, all your tapes, and all your CDs because every one of those artists who have made brilliant music and enhanced your lives? RrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrEAL fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few songs."
- Bill Hicks

"a choke and a gag, she spit up and came back for more"
- Kings of Leon - I Want You

"Has anything you've done made your life better?"
- American History X

"Five-foot-nine, I didn't know they stacked shit that high."
- Full Metal Jacket

"And you are young and life is long
And there is time to kill today
And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun"
- Pink Floyd - Time

"We all feed on tragedy. It's like Blood to a vampire.
vicariously, I live while the whole world dies."
- Tool - Vicarious

"Get off your fucking cross
We need the fucking space to nail the next fool martyr"
- Tool - Eulogy

"Please forgive this bold suggestion, but
Should you see your Maker's face tonight,
Look Him in the eye, look Him in the eye, and tell Him:
"I never lived a lie, never took a life, but surely saved one.
Hallelujah, it's time for you to bring me home." "
- Tool - 10,000 Days

and for any AC/DC fans out there: ".......WITH A BULLET IN HIS BACK!!!"

I have hundreds of quotes that are inspiring or motivating for me.

Here's one:

"Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects. "
... - Will Rogers

Or for the atheism's sake:

"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
... - Stephen F Roberts

I like this one:

"Doctor Who" The Time of Angels

Bob: Sorry, can I ask you again? You mentioned a mistake we've made.
The Doctor: Oh, big, big mistake. Really huge. Didn't anyone ever tell you? There's one thing you never put in a trap. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap.
Bob: And what would that be, sir?
The Doctor: Me.
