Tickets for System of a Down (Golden Circle) in Prague for ~78€. Regular ticket was ~50€, but it is just not worth it - there are too many ppl in the regular zone and it is too far from the stage. The experience from concert is halved then, imo. And it is not just one concert, it is one day festival (so far NOFX and Killswitch Engage (which I rly like) are gonna play with SOAD), so paying some extra money is a must.

Ah, The Blues Brothers. One of film history's greatest achievements. Mostly in the form of wrecked cars...

And I could probably recite the entirety of The Holy Grail from memory =D

I remember I heard one of their songs (well, their... a cover of an old one) called Feeling Good. It was in a cinema in Seven Pounds, and I loved the song. Then I came home and discovered how crap that band was :( (no offence guys, just referring to my feelings, I don't really mean it)

Anyway... I got a bit crazy lately ;)

Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts I-IV, 2CD, digibook

i don't blame people who dislike muse, most of their stuff probably just sounds ridiculous to non-fans. big falsetto operatic stuff xD (micro cuts, anyone?). they do have some songs where i just can't see how big progmans would dislike though. butterflies and hurricanes, take a bow, knights of cydonia and exogenesis symphony, to name a few.

anyway, did you listen to supermassive black hole? that song should not be on BH&R, it's like their equivalent to "owner of a lonely heart" by yes. most famous, worst song :P

I have only recently taken interest in Muse, though Nights of Cydonia has been spinning in my head since I was a kid. I like the music video, space cowboys are just too awesome (brings me back to Firefly). Lately I've listened to The Resistance (whole album) every now and then while cooking (so naturally I think of homemade Pizza whenever I hear that song...).

Exogenesis is just truly fantastic. Also it has "Genesis" encorporated in it which is always a bonus!

Now, now. Don't make fun of Muse, or I shall be forced to promptly deliver a fist to your face. I would hate to demolish such a trophy.
Tigro wrote:They are band which needs very specific listener.
I don't really think so, because they're style is very diverse, which in turn is what makes it so unique. It's like chart pop, prog and classical had a baby. A really weird looking, astounding and facinating baby.

Also; space cowboys.

Perhaps so, but there are a far cry less "13yo pussies" that listen and vouch for muse because of their musical qualities than there are "13yo pussies" that listen and vouch for normal prog rock. While i accept that every band will have it's share of idiot fans, to suggest that Muse has more of these fans than the majority of bands is just plainly incorrect.

Semi-ironically, referring to people who like bands that you dislike as "13yo pussies" also seems a little self-questioning. But that's by-the-by.

The fact is that Muse is a group of incredibly creative musicians - and as with all music, their stuff can be at incredibly hit and miss at times. The nature of that kind of adventurous music is that not everything you make will appeal to the masses. If you compare songs such as "Butterflies and Hurricanes" or "Map of the Problematique" to songs such as "Survival" or "Supermassive Black Hole" you'll just be left confused - they are difficult to compare because they aren't meant to be compared.

However, if you compare the songs of a band such as Opeth - while they have their diversities within the genre, they will often be struck by the same problem that most people have with all bands of those heavier genre's - to the untrained ear, everything sounds the same.

Muse is clearly very easy to get into, seeing as they get plenty of radio time. That says nothing about the quality or originality of their music, though.
