Latest thing you have bought

Post by The_BoneLESS » 1 Mar 2009, 22:46

I simply want to know more about everybody in the scene.
If you buy something, please let us know!

Let me start:

DVD: A double feature film (aka Grindhouse movie):
Black Candles (Ritos sexuales del diablo, Los)
Evil Eye

I thought it would be fun to see some original grindhouse movies but, i was somehow deceived with this pack. The first movie, as its spanish title explicitly tells us, is almost (if not) a porn movie. The only twist is that it looks like a softcore porn movie with satanical tendencies. For example, there is a sex scene with a girl and the animal on the cover of Slipknot's Iowa CD. Anyway, most people will surely hate the movie on every aspect beside the fact that there are many many sex scenes with quite cute italian girls.

The second movie, Evil Eye, is somehow better than the first one eventhough the story is very simple (and yet confusing as for most of these kinda movies). I got through the whole movie with no problem but the real problem is that it was neither scary, neither action packed, neither funny. It was simply an interesting bad movie for me. And yeah, the ending is awful but it's funny.

CD: Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness
Amazon's page

Now, this was a great discovery. Surely one of the best albums i have bought in the past years. It's a very nice blend of punk-rock, progressive, metal and as some say, emo (don't get scared please, no suicidal lyrics). The band is not for everybody if only for the singer's voice which is in a weird manner, pretty high pitch. There is a name for this kinda singing but, as i have no musical background so, i wouldn't know. Nevertheless, this cd is great.

Here are 2 of their songs off that cd, if you don't like that, you won't like the album:
Welcome Home
Ten Speed (of God's Blood and Burial)

okay, fair enough.

I bought a guitar strap for my bass 2 weeks ago. Turns out it has COMPLETELY vanished. I can't find it anywhere. Wasted 8 euros on that. :x

Last two things

Nokia 5800 Expressmusic red
I drowned my nokia 6131 on vacation last summer, and have been using my old 3310 since. Around december I started looking for a new phone seriously but couldn't really find any that seemed good, untill I discovered that this was being released soon, touch screen so you can have qwerty keyboard and all other shit you could want in a phone. So I bought it was soon as it was release in denmark, feb 16th.

The Sims 3
CD Wow had a 20dkr off everything sale one day so I pre ordered this as I knew I would buy it, at that time it was supposed to be released on feb 20, but later got post poned to june or something :/

some optical mouse, 50 e few weeks ago. I had a classic logitech ball mouse before, a nice "doh" feeling why didnt I try optical before.

elma keyboard 110e, few weeks + 1 ago. didnt like at first, too sensitive, but now when I got used to it, it is max, doesnt lock no matter how many buttons are pressed

actually bought clothes in january for 300e, this is very rare though.

in the autumn i bought a radeon 4850HD because my nvidia 7600gt broke all of a sudden.

so usually all my investments are computer related

Gee let's see the last thing I bought apart from food and stuff would be... I guess Christmas presents, but if that doesn't count either then... A Band of Brothers DVD like half a year ago. I don't normally buy stuff, I just take whatever I get and normally that satisfies me. I wish I had more money to buy clothes though, but these past months have been hectic! Once I get back on my feet I will buy new clothes.

Very very unnommishly I bought clothes today and yesterday for nearly 100 euros. It was because there were some sale here. Only got some 30e advantage from that though. I still am going to buy a pair of sandals.

Bought a few movies:

The Chase with Charlie Sheen. Car chase movie, fun and action loaded. Long time i hadn't seen it and felt like seeing it again. Was cheap so i bought it.

Big Trouble in Little China. I have heard so much good about this movie that i had to see it. Was also very cheap so got it.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951 and 2008). I only wanted to get the 1951 version but the package with both movies was 2 dollars cheaper so i got both.

Rimtape and tube to my bike :p I'm getting flat tires all the time but now I'll put double or even triple layers of rimtape in, so if I get a flat tire again I know it's not coming from any of the spokes.

I bought three sets of boomer strings, since I broke a string yesterday :(

Also, one silk-wounded with bronze string set for western, a sturdy case for the western guitar, a short slide and a taller one, a thumb pick and a capo.

Just picked up a 2nd generation 32gig Ipod touch on a used website in town. It turns out it is in mint condition and I am quite happy with it. Ran me $300 dollars. Now I am in the market for a used xbox 360 pro but still no one willing to take my low ball offers on this website yet.
