Snowman

Post by teajay »

Post your snowmen here. I'll start with mine; we went out last night at 11 pm to make one. When a snowball gets bigger than about 1 m, it's almost impossible to roll em anymore. Let alone lifting it on top of another! So we chopped one in pieces, and reassembled it into head and body.

Yeah it's some -14 degrees there atm so it's hard to make any snow sculptures now. But maybe at spring I could try to make some and send - at least there will be material since there's maybe some 40cm of snow at average which is pretty much for this time of the year. I guess it's caused by the cold wave from Siberia that has brought coldness and snow all over the Europe. It's pretty sad that it's caused by that kind of extraordinary happening because this should be the normik winter really - it's extremely beatiful out there especially at the forest where there's snow all over the trees and so on and I love it. Really postcard-scenery. But few previous winters have shown that the normal winter nowdays is just some bloody slush even in here Eastern Finland where we have got used to snow and coldness.

same here and in whole europe, lets talk about global warming now. but the cause is very simple in fact: El Nino occurs this year (or more like mid 2009 - 2010) :)

I can't believe you would cover your own penis in a layer of snow. That must have been awfully cold.

Brilliant comment igge,..

Yesterday we had so much snow! If I hadn't been a bit ill and drunk, I could've made a dozen snowmen. The original is still standing though. This is so surreal.

For the past few days the temperature is quite good but just a bit too cold to make snowmen... snowmen temperature is ~-1 to 4 but we've got temperatures around -7 to -3... They'd be just fine to play hockey though, but there is that little snow always falling that keeps the ice full of it and that fucking huge wind that makes your face iced in 2 minutes, even at -5...

I think we've got about the same winters, Raven... Only our summers are much hotter.

Average temperature in January is -12°C, in July it's 25°C. Lowest here is about -30°C usually, but some rare occurrences (once every two years maybe) can get down to -40°C (excluding wind). Highest excluding humidity (and it's very humid, can change temperature by over 10 degrees) in summer is about 30°C, but there is always one week when the temperature can reach 35°C. With humidity, this can be 40+.

There was not enough snow to cover my penis, so my friend went in there instead.

That's a fucking amazing snowman! Props for that.

I made another one today, I have a photo of it on someone else's camera, so it depends on her swiftness of sending me that pic. The other one is still standing strong. =D

We had some + temperatures yesterday; the newer snow creature was decapitated, and the older one shrunk a little. Still standing a bit strong though!
