Opeth - Hessian Peel this one levels me with the ground, I can't sit still during last 2 minutes, its fucking unbelievably awesome!
Katatonia - Soil's Song this one on the other hand gives me fantastic mood everytime i listen to it, heard it live, maybe that's the reason. Anyway I think it's fantastic
Orphaned Land - From Broken Vessels one of the greatest songs from a very interesting Israeli band and their latest album - The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR. Very original mix of good prog metal and some arabic/jewish influences, i really like it! Recommended to anybody liking metal and new thingies :)

I like listening to pink floyd when jogging. I know most people prefer some music that "pushes them on" and encourages them to work ahrder, but I prefer not really thinking about jogging at all. Pink floyd is nice to let your mind wander away. Most hoyled album atm is the wall, ez.

I've been listening to a lot of bebop lately. I started to really dig Gillespie somehow. Yesterday I listened twice to the Requiem by Duruflé, and on my mp3-player is only one album titled 'Best of Jazz'; sounds corny, but it actually has a very good selection of tracks on it. The drumming on Count Basie's April in Paril for example is so spot on. Tonight I was on a concert which combined horns and organ, they played Wagner arrangements and fantasies on Wagner. The volume of the horns was brutal, the organ couldn't top it, eventhough that organ is pretty damn huge and has some good portion of low registers (registries?) on it.

I find the way in which you painstakingly try to label your music with specific genres really funny, by the way, no offence though. You should listen to Poulenc concertos, give it a try. Messiaen also has some very heavy metal organ pieces.

Charlie Parker, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Frank Sinatra. I'm absolutely a fan of arrangements like the link posted below, because of the richness of the horns. On top of that the fluid phrasing of Sinatra, in short: perfect.

i've just bought my pineapple thief ticket for london in september, can't wait!
i have a total porcupine tree frenzy these days, i'm stuck at the old albums - up the downstair, the sky moves sideways, signify+insignificance. i never imagined the first two could impress me so much!
apart from that - the pineapple thief, peter gabriel, penguin cafe orchestra, pink floyd... lots of P bands! :D

Django Reinhardt all night and all week before. I got passed the the phase where every song sounds the same, then I passed the phase where you find the audio quality shite, now I am in the phase where I still don't recognize every song, only about a third. Next phase will be knowing every song, then afterwards playing every solo and after that I will be a gypsy and live in a trailer camp. Stay tuned.

I'm still not a gypsy yet, but I've listened quite a lot to Django over the past two months, but I can't recognize every song, or at least think of every title. They are quite alike and contain no lyrics, so that makes it hard to memorize. Besides Django I am now listening a lot to the other favourite of mine; a dutch 80's ska/reggae band called Doe Maar. Brilliant musicians and songwriters. One of the best bands/musics we ever manage to produce here in Holland, in my opinion.
