I just got a hold on my brother's acount and got to test this game. It is freakin' awesome! Truly addicting

Post anything about Minecraft here! How much you love it.. how much you hate the hype of this shitbricks low-graphics game.. how much you hate the ONE guy that has become a millionair from a game that is still in alpha. Post anything you like. I don't care xD

I think that the game is max and I guess I will get my own account soon.. if I still like the game in a few days/weeks.

Wow. This looks seriously cool. I have no time to start playing another game, but this deffinitely looks VERY cool. I enjoy at least some videos of minecraft to see some actual gameplay.

i tried the real thing, not the gay freeroam shit, played 3 min, started digging a hole in a mountain for cover from evil monsters, then i thought wtf am i doing and quit forever

though, i still like the youtube vids with big hallways inside mountains etc =D

This patch makes you wander around being adventure patch and all. Wandering around means world generation(rendering) and that's ultra heavy at least for my computer atm. Invisible blocks make you see "through" the world, memory leak crashing the client. Same old gamebreaking bugs. Just now these bugs are more apparent because you have a reason to adventure further from the x 0.0 z 0.0

Do you like the patch? Is this the right direction for minecraft?

At the moment it's a little laggy because it's trying to get code for generation for blocks you don't yet have and et cetera. Also 1.8 seems buggy as fuck just in general, ravine's spawning at random and in the middle of strongholds/villages etc.

Of course it's buggy. It's a pre-release of a beta patch.

I'm very disappointed in endermen. They were supposed to be scary. Cave spiders, on the other hand...

So, Minecraft can now be finished. Portal from the Nether to the End, kill a dragon, jump through a portal and you get a long endgame narrative. Heh, pretty nice.

Does anyone has the same problems?

When I leave the nether, the game crashs.
Normal animals, like cows and sheeps, have changed their spawning behavior and wool won´t grow after it get cut.

But the biggest problem is, I can´t find a nether fortress

I'll brief a piece of funny drama from Minecon, which seemed to be a bit of a disaster in itself (mainly because of inexperience and an obnoxious pink-haired lady).

First off, Yogscast interviewed Notch. It was awkward and Notch made it pretty clear that he doesn't give a shit about his public image. He was talking about wanking and fucking Simon's mother, among other cool subjects. Here's the interview: part 1 & part 2. A bit later Yogscast got an hour on stage, showcasing some mods, showing their videos etc. Nothing far too interesting in that, but some idiotik parents got angry because they said "fuck" on a couple of instances. Link to that video here. Notch responded to the angry parents and announced he won't be working with Yogscast anymore.

"I'm very sorry about the behavior of the people we won't work with any more. Celebrity or not, you don't f-bomb kids."
"Yes, Yogscast."

tl;dr Notch is weird. =D

It feels like the level of organization at Mojang is so low that it can only lead to a disaster. Notch just happened to come up with a bunch of gameconcepts that work extremely well together creating one fucking cool and dynamic time waster. He does deserve the 4million subs, no doubt about that, I'm just waiting for that disaster ;)

IMO it had great potential and then came 1.8 and everything started going downhill. Also, Notch is clearly bored with developing the game, so I'm nat very hopeful for the future of teh. One positive thing is that they promised to start making better mod support.
