I took advantage of the Steam Summer Sale 2012 and got a bunch of games:
  • Beat Hazard (+ both DLC's)
  • The Binding of Isaac (+DLC & Soundtrack)
  • BIT.TRIP RUNNER [Currently playing, SUPER-AWESOME game.]
  • F.E.A.R.
  • F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point
  • F.E.A.R.: Perseus Mandate
  • F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
  • F.E.A.R. 3
  • Half-Life
  • Half-Life: Blue Shift
  • Half-Life: Opposing Force
  • LIMBO [Finished with one achievement remaining.]
  • Peggle Deluxe
  • Psychonauts
  • Q.U.B.E. [Finished game and all achievements in two hours. Was good but way too short.]
  • Star Wars: Dark Forces
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
  • Team Fortress Classic (came with Half-Life 1 Anthology)

I actually didn't spend that much on all of these, most of them I grabbed while they were 75% off.
These will keep me busy for a while. :)

Yesterday I have finished classic czech DOS game from 1993 - Vlak. Dunno if anyone besides cz ppl knows it, but it is quite short logical masterpiece :)
It was one of the very first games I have ever played and I have never finished it before (always got stuck in lev 26 out of 50). But last time I played it I was 9-10 yo, so it is no big deal I sucked in it :)

I have found it again after all those years randomly in Marketplace on my Windows Phone (HTC Titan).

on a site note it has great purchasing system (on phone) - it is completely free and adless and you can pay 1$ to support the re-creator of the game :) I bought it immediately after finishing all the levs :)

btw original PC game has only 12,4 kb!! WTF

you could make some highly entertaining speed run video that nobody can ever top and teh robots sent to space by humans can watch teh speed run and be entertained. It's a well known fact that entertained robots work harder. When they work harder to find new habitable orbital bodies, you in fact as a gamer are doing very important job. It must be true because in Sweden the word "underhålla" means both to "entertain" and to "maintain". It's common sense that a well-maintained robot works better, so by flawless Swedish logic that means an entertained robot also works better.

Btw, re-release of mimp the other day, with significantly improved everything and 2 new chapters. Will start speedrunning it asap.

Super game. Best mmo i've played in terms of gameplay and mechanics. The storyline is awesome, but i already quit due to no end game content (yet or ever), as is the same with every mmo game in history of creation except world of warcraft as ive come to realize.

This game would have been outstanding as a singleplayer game just due to the story and shit. Same with swtor.

well it's definitely bad for your health if you allow games to become your reality o,o but i play games quite often for quite a while now and i still perceive them as games =) plus they entertain me as almost nothing else (that can be done at home), so i don't consider them a waste of time, not whatsoever :)

What you are talking about now is a really severe case of game/gaming "addiction". Your initial statement was simply: "Playing computer games is a waste of time"

Either you are not very good at arguing or you don't know the difference between being addicted and playing computer games. If you have a full time job, a wife and a kid, and live thousands of miles away from your irl childhood friends and the only thing you have in common is that a few hours a day/week you find time to play a computer game together with them (the only social interaction with your friends you will get due to many circumstances perhaps) Then I'd value those hours greatly and it would be the absolutely least waste-of-timy time of my week.

My brother came around the other day and we played Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (that Jappe2 gifted me for Xmas) local co-op. Though the single player side of it is pretty average, playing co-op together was great fun. We played six hours all up :)

nice elrond, maybe you can comment smth about teh later. I checked some vids last weeks about PoE and it looks like prety good but it has the same main problem as d3, no swarms of monsters. I simply canot be interested in hack n slash if you're fighting against 3-4 monsters with ridikulous hp pools, what is needed is 50 monster packs MINIMIUJMM, even if it's technically challenging in terms of FPS with 3d engines, it should still be the main goal to achiieve that great feeling of putting down ridiculous amounts of monstiks with one clik of a maus)

I watched Kripp on twitch.tv, i think he is around lvl 70 and there were A LOT mobs, espacially with the new Map system and they were nearly all one hits ;)

U can choose a map with tons of monsters and better loot. http://www.pathofexile.com/news/dev-diary/

I still have problems to get it running, can't enter the lvl 4 region :S

And it's 10x harder than D3, the first 3 mobs i saw killed me nearly :D

I don't know why I've only just discovered this (it started in 2010), http://www.humblebundle.com.
It's a pay-what-you-want website for a bundle of games (that are redeemable on steam). You can potentially get the whole bundle for $0.01.
I bought them for $1 so that I got the steam key.
There are other similar websites, but the Humble Bundle seems to have the better games.
